I hope this isn't how manny's career is gonna go from now on-fighting rematches with guys he beat just at different weights and in Macua.
Normally, I wouldn't want any fighter to move back down in weight because history has shown that it can be quite damaging to the body the older a fighter gets. However, Cotto looks to be pretty chunky at 154. It'd be one thing if he was solid muscle, then No, he should stay his ass at 154. But, he has very little physique at 154 which might mean he can still make 147 but doesn't feel like it.

160 is too big of a leap for Cotto who is a small 154 pound fighter.

Cotto seems to be a 150 guy-which sucks for him because he's too big for ww and too small at his age and with his mileage for 154.

Why fight at 147? the only reason would be to rematch manny better fights for him at 154 andup.

can respect both posts but I don't know if he can make 147. Maybe it is just diet correction. But he strikes me as being inbetween both classes.

Besides, at 147 other than manny 2 (and who wants to see that) the better fights for him are 154 and up.

I always thought Cotto was too small for 54, his arms are too short. At 47 he could find himself at the middle of a bidding war between TR/HBO & GB/SHOW. Cotto v Marquez is a serious threat to any Cinco de Mayo PPV that Mayweather could come up with at this point.

I second that, I think after his father died his discipline went thru the window. All he has to do is manage his weight in between fights so that when he starts his training camp he doesn't have to struggle to make weight. Not sure if he can ease off his mother's cooking tho lol. Floyd is the perfect example of a fighter that manages his weight in between fights, all it takes is discipline and the right ppl around him.

Ok I'll say it because nobody else will..Cotto is too damn slow at 154/160. There I said it....loved the man's contribution to the sport but he's too small and too slow at 154, he'd have to be entirely too aggressive and waste too much energy against a top 154/160 guy to make it through 12 rounds in one piece.

Even though he lost all his big fights at 154.
