I really hate when armchair/front running fans call a pro lazy or whatever or say that it's "easy" to make whatever weights. YOu effers don't know his daily routine or his habits. You don't know his body either. You people are ******. History has proven that an older fighter going down in weight will always hamper him.

He's 154. Just finish out your time, win or lose and then retire. He will get crushed at 147 if he decides to go back down.

cotto was lethargic at 154, aside from flabby.

I totally agree with you sir. This is an attempt to get a Cotto/Pacquiao rematch. Cotto has been away from welterweight far to long to try to go back down and do anything. Those days are over. Its a lot harder to go back down in weight the older you get. I hope Cotto and his team do not make this mistake.

Agreed do not try to go down in weight now. Those days are behind him.

It was at 151 not 154, and who cares???? Damaged Margarito doesn't mean anything.

How is it a move to 147 a plan to rematch Manny when both are trained by Roach now?

I would love to see Cotto vs Broner @147. That weight was Cotto's best. and broner seems to be alot easier to hit than Mayweather. If Paulie would have Had Cotto's power that fight would have had a different conclusion.

Exactly. This is a power play by Top Rank/HBO, they're gonna try to muscle their way into the Cinco De Mayo weekend. They've got the 2,3,&4 PPV guys in Pac, Cotto (though not contractually bound), and Marquez. No one wants to see Pac v Marquez 5! (rolling my eyes), so you take the #2 & #3 in a classic P.R. v Mexico grudge match on May 5th weekend, I love it! Who can they pair Mayweather with to top that? Amir Khan? Let me borrow a line from Angel Garcia "C'mon man?"

If Cotto wants to go back to 147, he will. Train him to make 154 and evaluate the options afterwards.

I understand that some fighters when they move up really shouldn't go back down, their frames grow and they're naturally more heavily muscled. But that isn't the case with Cotto. He's 156 3 weeks out from a 154 bout. He's probably going to come in at 151-152 without trying to make weight.

                      He's not a 154lber.
