Mayb by next Sept FM goes vs Sergio as Sergio needs a tester 1st...FM would beat him in a boring math, Sergios decline is evident, and shows, Floyd has not begun his, & by fighting regularly, may escape it & retire after his next 4...who knows what he wants, he may have not begun that process yey, s he's not going again till May, 8 months away....

The Mayweather vs Martinez PPV is so lucrative that HBO couldn't refuse to do it as a joint venture. They simply have no financial payday to offer Martinez which even approaches it on their own; Team Martinez could legally break the HBO k for unreasonableness and financial hardship if they refused.

I have been saying for months that Martinez PPV at 157lb catchweight is the most marketable fight Mayweather could target outside of Pacquiao. The risk/reward ratio is too right for any other fight

Barker would not be an easy night of work, sorry.

Floyd could handle Martinez from a size and style standpoint. And I'd pick Floyd to win that fight. Always have. But the problem is, a one-n-done at middleweight wouldn't be accepted from the public. Floyd would then be expected to defend that title. And he's simply too small to deal with several of the top middleweights out there, IMO. and then you would have guys like Ward and Hopkins being willing to make 160 and Floyd simply can't compete with those guys. Personally, I don't think we're ever gonna see Floyd fight about 147 again.

We have to see what Sergio looks like and if he is past his injuries.

Sadly, this matchup should have happened over a year ago.

Canelo and Martinez are essentially the same size. But i think at this point of their careers canelo might of been the bigger threat. Martinez before the chavez fight would of beat floyd i think though.

Floyd simply has no marketable opponents South of 160.
If Floyd would fight Manny next, what's left for him? Fight Manny until fulfilling the Showtime contract?
I said that FMJr just killed the sport last Saturday.
