It's Larry's wet dream. The sweet science in full affect. No face first brawlers boring it up. We'd have two slick ATG's doing what slick fighters do which is display a high level of ring IQ. We're truly not worthy of this match.

We'd have to wear special goggles and a lab coat just to be in the same room as the TV transmitting this marble of science.

B-Hop has said some crazy **** in the past, but he wouldn't seriously mention that matchup unless someone asked him about it. I wanna know who did.
Someone who had access to B-Hop and who knows (as we all know) that grandpa provide this kind of shitty answers...

      • We have people not wanting to call Floyd "GREAT" but they want to see him fight any & everybody from 175 & down LOL...all these big guys can come down but if Floyd sets he's sights on someone from 135/140 the Internet would go nuts. 154 is too big size wise for Floyd...if it's all about legacy & challenging yourself, why isn't anybody knocking on Wards door?...Too big?

          • Funny because Hopkins is the only active fighter in the entire sport other than Mayweather with extensive knowledge of the shoulder roll. In fact folks will forget Hopkins was doing the Shoulder roll before Floyd went pro. Don't think Hopkins would win but he'd definitely open up a lot of people's eyes by neutralizing some of Floyd's defense and counter punching. Bernard ten years ago puts on a great showing..today his hands are too slow. I am personally baffled no current fighter who has fought or is planning on a Floyd fight has contacted Bernard or Brother Naz to help them take advantages of Floyd's flaws. The shoulder roll is phenomenal but it is not perfect and it really takes a student of the game to know and understand how to nullify it.

many atg's have moved up and done well, i dont see why floyd can't and i dont know why his fans wouldnt want him to. this is what he needs to do to be challenged. he would also silence all critics for good
LMAO!!! Manny's "sizzle-over-steak" consist of the exact same guys Floyd had already beaten. Floyd just got criticized for it and Manny got his balls massaged. Manny won a popularity contest. Nothing more, nothing less.

As for Floyd "moving up" like many ATGs. Again, Floyd has moved up. He's won titles in five divisions. You're acting like this guy is a career welterweight.

As for how Floyd would do as a middleweight. Its very obvious that his body maxes out at about 150lbs. On top of that, he's short. And on top of that, he's not a puncher. So IMO he wouldn't do very well matched up with guys that are close to 6' tall and would enter the ring with a 15-20lb weight advantage. If he wants to try, awesome. If he doesn't, I don't have a problem with that either.

As for "silencing his critics, it will never happen. Floyd's critics dnt like him as a person and **** on everything he does. He could beat both Klitschkos the same night and his critics will say that Vitali was old and Wlad doesn't have a chin.

                • nobody wants to see that ****.........lol

floyd's speed and movement would be too much for bhps. only hting bhops can match him on is boxing iq. listen, bhops is a legend and all tiem great but he beats fighters who come straight to him. that's how he takes their strenght. he can't beat fighters with fast hands and alot of movement hence roy jones jr. roy beat him easily in the first match.

                  • This fight is ******. Size disparity is too much for Floyd to handle. Fight is not gonna happen. BHop knows it, but threw it out there to promote himself especially having a fight coming up soon.

IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2, 32KOs) is ready and willing to drop down by two weight divisions to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs) on May 3rd, likely at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather, regarded as the pound-for-pound king, is the WBC champion at 147-pounds and the WBC/WBA champion at 154-pounds.

Hopkins, who defends his title against mandatory Karo Murat (25-1-1, 15KOs) on October 26th, has not made the middleweight limit since facing Jermain Taylor in a rematch on December 3rd of 2005.

During a Monday night conversation with BoxingScene.com, Hopkins made it clear that his full focus at the moment is stacked on defending his title against Murat - but he is very confident that he can safely drop down to 160-pounds for a Mayweather fight.
