Without the bogus knockdown call and 3 point swing it created Matthysse would have won on two of the three judges scorecards and the fight.

that was a very close fight, i had lucas winning the majority of the first 5-6 rounds I think. it was much closer than what people are saying.

I like both fighters but to be fair I did see garcia low blowing a lot and refs not calling it. but garcia was landing great body shots as well and lucas was hesitant coming in.

I don't think it's out of the question for lucas to win a rematch but it won't happen

Danny should have been deducted a few points for the constant lowblowing and holding..

That knockdown was a joke so instead of a 10-9 lucas score ot became 10-8 danny;- a 3 point switch ..

And lets not forget his moronic racist vile father..
Time to take khans knob out of your mouth. I'm not a Garcia fan but you are clearly bitter over Garcia's KO of Khan - i rooted for Khan up until then and his excuses. Massive potential - no character.

I hate Garcia - his p00f fade and autistic dad, but he clearly can box as shown on Saturday night. Yes - lowblowing and clinching...didn't go down though right? Made it through 12 didn't he?

He was crisp with that lefth hook early on. If Matthysse's eye hadn't swelled, we may have had a different fight, but it did.

I still love Matthysse though - badman. The effort and power he puts into that right...

close ass fight, and i'd wager that if not for the freak swelling, matthysse would have taken it, when that swelling came up for about 3 rounds he couldn't see and really didn't throw anything, just tried to get himself closer and closer to get past the wide hook of garcia(that he couldn't see anymore), but whenever he got to where he felt safe he got held

also garcia should never have been allowed so many clinches and lowblows
it took a vicious ko like lowblow to finally get a point deduction, and it should have never gotten to that with how many he was throwing

Agree with this. However, that is all a part of boxing/bad decisions/dirty fighting etc.

I felt bad for Matthysse, even though i believed Garcia did enough to win. The swelling made it difficult to reflect his true presence in the ring.

The fight was turning into a proper slugfest prior to Matthysse's eye..

Garcia won though (dirty fighting/decision whatever the reason). End of!

How did that swelling happen? How many times did Matthysse pull Garcia's head down? Damn you guys are salty. Almost as salty as Pacquiao fans.

you dont have to be winning a fight to land a punch, and garcia was fortunate to land a punch that just about closed lucas's eye, because right before that swelling he seemed to be getting a little discouraged

My Point is. Garcia was the one who messed Matthysse eye up and gave him the edge. Doesn't matter if Matthysse had a better eye or not. Garcia did that to him and won the fight. No what ifs or could have been. Garcia puffed his eye up due to connecting effectively. I always find it funny to read "If it wasn't for the eye Matthysse would have won" B.S. because Garcia was the reason for the eye getting like that.

would still pick Lucas to win in a rematch
the eye hindered him, but it was from punches, no beef with that
only taint on the win was the low blows going on in the fight
ref shoulda shut that shit down, it looked bad

Do you think there should be a rematch? I think it might be different if Matthysee eyes didn't swelled.
no ****in rematch. Matthysse lost. It wasn't close, it wasn't controversial. Danny is better and will always beat Lucas.

If Lucas wins some big fights and gets back to the tp than sure. Maybe at 147 in a year or 2, should danny need a comebecak fight like Nonito is doing with Vic.

I'm tired of needless rematches being made. Give some new fighter a chance. Lucas can beat a Hank Lundy level guy than we'll see.
