I've got no problem with Garcia getting the decision but I didn't think he did enough early to warrant some of the margins. Matthysse was the aggressor early and Danny didn't really come on until the eye started to swell. I don't think Angel would've slapped the **** out of him if he thought he was leading like all the announcers had him. Good fight regardless though, props to Danny.

Yes, clearly Lucas was the aggressor but he was sloppy and NOT sharp at all! He looked rather amateurish and like a frustrated Bull in a China Shop. Very poor performance on his part. Danny fought a beautiful fight, took his time and played on all of Lucas's faults. Their is really no dis*****g Garcia's win last night. Like him or not one must give the guy his due unless of course someone is in complete denial which then makes it's impossible to have a civil discussion or debate.
That Angel is a real trip....He's going to be hunted down for network and press commentary a lot more in the coming weeks. Should be VERY entertaining.

115-111 was the perfect scorecard. The fight was competitive,But we all saw who the better fighter was. Matthysse for a flat footed guy, He has some really good handspeed.

I'm here for the DG fans to $h1t in my mouth. Had lucas winning early. Not much to say, except very impressed by young swifty and highly disappointed in Lucas. His trainers did not emphasize the urgency of the situation, esp. after the eye closed up. Close fight, I had it a draw. I hope they run it back.

EDIT: also, huge props to angel garcia. What a bold game plan, executed very well (although the fight was messy and a bit dirty).

Garcia was absolutely awesome last night. The guy showed a great chin, heart and talent. He really is a hell of a fighter, fearless and there was some real devil about some of his work last night. He fought like a seasoned champion in there. Gotta say that Matthysse has one of the best chins in the game and is a tough, tough dude. Props to both, but massive congratulations to Danny. Brilliant stuff.
