Garcia fought a great fight, he's so technically sound and his tactics were spot on, he seems to have an angel on his shoulder and is top ten pfp for me.

He does have an angel on his shoulder by far the luckiest mother***er in boxing.

Garcia never shook him, so he knows he cant hurt him in a rematch. Man I'm not even gonna hate on Lucas like a lot of people are, I always said it's a close fight and Lucas seems like a really nice guy but the Matthysse groupies have been some of the most ignorant, obnoxious, irrational morons in boxing for the last few months.

They have been so loud its been annoying. But they got what they wanted. They better ask for a mike dallas jr rematch. Is there a mike dallas III for his return fight.

I, like many others thought Lucas would take this, and by KO, but Danny proved to have a lot more skill than I thought, even the shots that Matthysse did land didn't, in the main trouble Garcia greatly. That said, it was close until Lucas lost the use of his eye. FWIW I actually had Danny winning at that point, but it coulda been argued either way.

I didn't see any 'schooling' or 'exposure' going on, just Garcia proving himself both more skilled and tougher than I'd thought and Matthysse showing real heart in continuing to battle competitively whilst virtually blind in one eye.

Both guys showed great heart, and props to both for making a great fight. I for one would love to see a rematch, 'cos without the eye injury, I think it could well have been a FOTY candidate.

Danny won the fight clearly. No excuses. I really didn't think he had that in him, but he is a true champion. Shame he's got a **** for a dad.

I picked Lucas to win but wasn't as confident as most. It was still 'even' going in. Danny showed some great boxing skills that I didn't know he had, his footwork and combinations are what won it for him. Very good win, I won't doubt Swift again....still can't stand his pops though!

It was a very good night for the sport of boxing. So happy for Danny Garcia that he won and did it without questions. I am reading Lucas Matthysse fans talking about the referee, low blows, blah, blah but at the end of the day Garcia wasn't even supposed to make it out alive according to them. Fact is Matthysse is good but he is limited. His fans thought the same about Garcia but I knew he was the better of the two. Both men will be in some good match ups in the future. I also am reading about a rematch? If it happens then Danny gets him out of there or makes it look easier 2nd time around. Matthysse could not hurt him in a major way so his # is pulled. Garcia is the better boxer and that will pull him through.
