We are ok with what Danny did last night. He shut you the eff up, and has you crying in his defense when Matthysse was not crying about it last night. He never even hurt Danny. Danny beat his ass, and took your boxing opinion away from you. Next time you promote a killer, make sure he's a killer chump. Now stop crying and give prasie where it's due you !@$%!$@#%$!@ wimp.did you not read my post? so you are ok with fighters committing fouls and then when the fouled fighter falls into the ropes they can knock them down? why is that ok? if garcia landed a low blow and doubled matthysse over in pain then knocked him down with a left hook you would be ok with that? its the same situation. the ref was sh-it and let garcia foul all over the place and you are ok with that. why? do you just hate any rules? are you an anarchist?Comment

Sorry to hijack the thread because its a Garcia topic but:
GGG is no hype....period! The reality is he's not a huge name yet here in the US and his Team, The Promoters, Networks etc. must build the name and recognition first by whats termed as "bringing the fighter along". Most go though this process though some faster than others. He would easily stand up against the likes of Martinez or anyone put in front of him in that weight class but sadly many fighters and teams are ducking him and some promoters want a GUARANTEE of the BIG receipts. GGG's only dilemma is his age.
Back to Danny - Brilliant showing! Bravo!Last edited by LAPete; 09-15-2013, 09:58 AM.Comment

I've got no problem with Garcia getting the decision but I didn't think he did enough early to warrant some of the margins. Matthysse was the aggressor early and Danny didn't really come on until the eye started to swell. I don't think Angel would've slapped the **** out of him if he thought he was leading like all the announcers had him. Good fight regardless though, props to Danny.MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs) fought his heart out, dropping Lucas Matthysse (34-3, 32KOs) in the eleventh and winning a twelve round unanimous decision to retain the WBC/WBA junior welterweight titles. The scores were 115-111, 114-112, 114-112.
Garcia started off by his using his movement and looked to counter. Matthysse applied the pressure and came forward, with both looking to land big shots. Matthysse landed a good shot on Garcia, who took it well and looked to counter. Matthysse got the better of the action in the second with a few well-placed shots. The third was close and could have went either way. Garcia did very well in the fourth, countering off the back-foot and landed hard shots to Matthysse's head and body. Mattthysse edged the fifth with a last minute flurry of punches. Both had their moments in the sixth, with Garcia going often to the body as Matthysse targeted the head.
