If you want too call Golovkin a great ring general and sight his cutting off the ring that makes sense. I wouldn't agree with great because he hasn't really proved it on the highest level but we all have different thresholds for adjectives.
If GGG was a natural 147, could he beat floyd?

It is an attribute. Are you kidding me? Why do you think commentators say things like, "he's very good at cutting the ring off." "He's not very effective at cutting the ring off." Why do you think they say that?Cutting off the ring is not a fucking attribute it is a tactic, and if you can't understand the difference the point in talking about an outcome is less than worthless.
You cut off the ring to be in position, which is a part of ring generalship which is the attribute or skill not the tactic to be in position.
Yes, it's a tactic, but it's also a skill.
"He has a very good jab." "He doesn't have a good jab." Same thing applies to cutting the ring off. It's not just a tactic, but it's a skill.Comment

It is not a skill you either move to cut the guy off or follow, both have their reasons. That is like saying someone is good at moving to his left, either a guy gets how to move or doesn't it isn't some skill. Getting it would be the skill, but that is part of ring generalship.
See the post above that one thoughComment

I already linked him the definition of what a skill is and it fits perfectly with cutting off the ring, but he chose to ignore it. He's at the point where he refuses to admit defeat. It is an attribute. Are you kidding me? Why do you think commentators say things like, "he's very good at cutting the ring off." That's why I just said agree to disagree. The guy still keeps coming for more.
What can you do? Just gotta brush your shoulders off. They know GGG would whip his ass. Of course, they'd NEVER admit it. As long as we know, it's all good.

But it isn't a skill it is either something you do or don't do, either you cut the guy off or you don't.
It isn't something that is worked on or you can really improve unless you don't do it and you learn to do it.
It is a tactic, a means to an end and part of the process of ring generalship.Comment

Just like you never admit that Golovkin is probably the most over rated fighter around~ given how little he has actually proven at a world class level.Comment
