What makes some people so Arrogant?

You would have thought if someone had as much skill and accomplishments as Mayweather that they would not feel the need to promote themselves and demote others around them, usually a person dosnt feel like doing that when they have enough self esteem. They tend to become charitable if anything ie they let others put them down and dont care and they dont bother to promote themselves either because they already know they are awesome and have an excess of self esteem.

So why is Mayweather so arrogant still?

Alot of Mayweather's success has come from being like this, He's taken on this persona to promote himself, and it has worked, lets be honest, if the guy was as nice as pie no one would give a **** about him. The majority of discussions on this forum are filled with hatred towards Floyd, that's proof right there.

I don't think he's arrogant at all. Mayweather has worked his ass off as a little child and continues to master his craft to this day.

Mayweather has a inferiority complex that most people that come from nothing get after they get money, the arrogance is just a symptom of that which is to be expected. But he tried to use it as Ali did but it doesn't work quite as well.

See Ali was a thoughtful Smart confident guy who from birth thought he was the **** who liked to play the arrogant villain and since it was mostly an act and it was so obvious it came off as charming mostly. Now Mayweather is the opposite he is an arrogant person with a true inferiority complex who needs to put a masquerade of thoughtfulness, he works too hard to make his true self into a "villain" type of persona but since that is who he actually is and with his inferiority complex, that doesn't translate to charming just to an asshole, most likely one of the GOAT boxers ever but will also be remembered as one of the biggest asholes ever as well.

The same reason Ali was arrogant, the same reason Ray Robinson was arrogant.

The same reason a long list of fighters are arrogant.

They dedicate their lifes to a single craft. They aren't about to call another man better than they are.

I don't know. It is the reason I don't like Mayweather or Broner. They have pleasing fighting styles to me and they are damn good fighters with Mayweather being a great fighter. They never stop bragging on themselves and trashing and disrespecting their rivals.

As others have alluded to, it is an act mainly intended to promote the fight. A truly arrogant man wouldn't prepare as meticulously as he does. He is confident in his own abilities, he has to be, but the way he prepares for these fights shows that he doesn't look past his opponent.

what makes him arrogant? Umm I don't know it's probably that 8-9 figure sum sitting in his bank account. Because we all know he wouldn't even have 1/3 of his networth right now had it not been for his personality and exaggerated persona.

I don't know anyone who has low self-esteem who loves and craves attention, contradictory actually.
