Comments Thread For: Canelo: Fans Know it Won't Be Easy For Either of Us

From the moment the announcement came that Floyd Mayweather would face Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, the forthcoming September 14 event has seemingly taken on a life of its own. From the record-breaking live gate to the hundreds of thousands of fans who came out in full force during the 10-city, two-country press tour, it was clear that the boxing public has fully embraced the biggest possible fight that could realistically be made today.

“We feel ‘The One’ will break all records,” insists Golden Boy President Oscar de la Hoya, who – as a fighter – still holds the all-time record for the highest-selling boxing pay-per-view event. His May ’07 split decision loss to Mayweather generated more than 2.4 million buys, and also at the time set the record for the largest live gate in boxing history.

I almost got hyped for the fight.

Then I came to my senses and remembered that Floyd is about to potshot and possibly TKO Canelo. Easy. Bank on it.

Only guy who would have been Floyd trouble would have been a prime Punisher and prime Pacquiao.

I think it will be rarely easy for Floyd after 7 rounds. The first 6 should be pretty intense, tough to score, and competitive after that Floyd will take over. Idk why people talk shyt about Canelo struggling with Trout. Austin is no slouch and I actually think Austin Trout is a tough fight for anyone including Floyd. Trout is big he knows how to use his size he's in shape has heart throws a lot of punches has a good defense. Trout is trouble for anyone. I thought he beat Cotto pretty handely and Cotto had just gave Floyd a tough fight. As a matter a fact Cotto came closer to beating Mayweather than he did to beating Trout.

you cant compare a 36 year olds record to a 23 year olds record. oh wait, all mayweather fans do that.

Canelo really believes this nonsense. I'll be shocked if he lands anything other than a weak jab.
