Sorry but this fight wouldn't be happening unless Team Mayweather knew they could beat this kid. Canelo is powerful and he's a commendable boxer but he does not have the ability to make adjustments, seemingly, and he does not have the workrate nor the footspeed required.

It might be easy for somebody. Guess we'll see.

Canelo has a weird style. He's not a counter puncher but he fights like one. How do you prepare for that if you're Floyd? It's going to be a interesting to say the least.
It's simple, Floyd won't wait around too long trying to figure out Canelo. He'll look to get his punches off first. A lot of those punches that Trout threw against Canelo looked as if he wasn't fully committed and confident that he could land on Canelo. There's nothing really weird about Canelo's style. He has a variety of ways he set up his combos, but he's really a boxer-puncher and has a very similar style as Miguel Cotto.

Canelo can't beat Floyd by not being active enough, but he can't get too reckless in there and gives Floyd openings either. He plans on using intelligent pressure and counter punching in spurts against Floyd. It's a good game plan similar to the one that Cotto used against Floyd, But will Canelo be able to use it consistently for 12 rounds? We'll find out if it'll work on fight night.
