And so wasn't Morrison yet you keep looking past this to give Tommy a chance. As I've already said, any fighter has a punchers chance. But when you put this fight in its proper context its going to come down to Wlads jab controlling the fight and his heavy hands ending it. You of course don't want to debate this and it's understandable why.

He's faced better top 10 comp than his overrated brother, that's for sure. Calling it good....that's pushing it!You're off base here. Sure Tommy has a chance, which is my point, but only before Wlad really hit his stride. Todays version of Wlad would crush even the best Tommy I'm afraid. I have no problem admitting that. He's just too strong, too big, too skilled and too damn smart to get beaten by a good small heavyweight like Morrision was.
Now, whether it was the losses that wisened Wlad up or the trainer, it doesn't matter. There's no arguing the FACT that he's been perfect every since Brewster (Stewards 1st fight with Wlad) and has faced good top ten opposition most of the time since.

There seems to be too much emphasis being placed on a trainer here. Last I checked, Wlad got chin checked by Peter, Williamson and Brewster all while being trained by Steward. Emmanuel didn't improve Wlads defense, all he did was teach him to hold on for dear life and protect his weak chin and lack of heart.
Morrison was a dog. He knew how to bob and weave his way inside and hit like a truck. Wlad has a chance because he's strong, but Morrison was much more explosive and knew how to bust up weak chinned fighters like Wlad. Brewster was slower, fatter and nowhere near as good as Morrison and he kicked the **** out of Wlad.
Steward can't get in there and fight for him, so this is a dumb premise to hinge so much on.
Prime for prime its a 50/50 fight. Morrison's best chances are in the first five rounds, if Wlad survives that, then maybe he wins. But lets not pretend Wlad is better than he is or that Emmanuel Steward did anything but teach him how to fight safe. Wlad's opponents have been a joke anyway and he still goes 12 dull rounds with them. Tommy was a fast starter with a killer instinct. Very possible he sparks Wlad like Sanders did.
Given your opinion, and it is the first one that gives Morrison a real chance...How do you factor in the Lewis fight?
Thanx I really am curious because you say some interesting things and...I noticed watching film that when Morrison was young dumb and full of.... and fighting all those six rounders, he was figting guys who could really move, and he was indeed able to catch them easily.Comment

My answer is : old Foreman would give WK the fight of his life
My vote was : Morrison would beat the old WK and Lose to new WKComment

Vital would beat him at any time. Bad match up.
Morrison would take Wlads head off at any time.

I think Tommy blasts pre Steward Wlad out faster than Sanders did and I think he still has a legit shot at present day Wlad.Im not sure even todays Wlad could handle Tommys speed or power.
Tommy's problem was focus not talent. I really think the only fight he ever really, really trained for was Foreman. What a colossal waste. Could he have been a top ten all timer? No, probably not but he could have handled alot of the guys from the nineties and whitewashed every one of the bums fighting today save Vitali.Comment

Two things, I don't rule out the possibility of a Wlad win. Just some of the responses here undervaluing Morrison left a sour taste in my mouth. I wanna make that clear.
Regarding Lewis, that was partly how good Lewis was and just a poor game plan and lack of focus from Morrison. He stood outside way too much letting a prime Lewis tee off on him. I'm sure he'd would've liked to have done that one over.Comment

Three things ******:
1) I never said Tommy was my favorite fighter.
2) I started the thread to see who all feels the same way about the situation as I do. If you have a problem with that, then see your way outta here.
3) I know who wrote your post so it's not really necessary to sign your screen name at the end dip****.Comment

I agree, Morrison could have done a lot better if he just weaved and rushed Lewis with combinations instead of trying to outbox one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time.I appreciate that.
