fight the best
prove you're second best
change the face of boxing? i'm not too sure about that.
froch lost to kessler in the first fight, i thought he lost to andre dirrell, and it cannot be argued that he landed the more effective punches in the dirrell fight. ward completely schooled him.Comment

I like Froch but this Thread is greatly exaggerating. To change the face of boxing you have to reach the casuals and here in the US finding 1 casual that knows who Froch is would be almost impossible. Not only that but he lost three fights in the super six tournament. The Andre Dirrell fight was a robbery. I don't care if Dirrell ran and held a lot he still landed more and controlled Froch you can't win a fight not landing punches. Jermain Taylor was also beating him really easy, if it wasn't for his weak chin he would have beat Froch to. Like I said I like and respect Froch because he has a ton of heart but any good slick fighter would beat him.Comment

I like Froch but you are giving him credit for making things happen that he had nothing to do with and he did not changed the face of boxing.Ward does not have to come to England to fight Froch if he doesn't feel like it. Froch had nothing to do with any of those good fights happening. The credit for those fights happening goes 100% to the fighters and not to Froch. You are really reaching with this. As another poster pointed out Mayweather and Canelo probably don't know who Froch is. Give Froch full credit for what he does but not for what other fighters do.Comment

What an absolute fallacy and one which people seem to buy. Chavez Jr lost 11 rounds and then won the last one.
The scorecards in Froch-Taylor were closing significantly going into the 12th.
Stop with this revisionist history bull****. Froch was losing but he was very much in that fight.Comment

exactly...Not one thing you have said survives even the most effortless scrutiny.
I do not think Froch has changed the face of boxing.
Since capturing the vacant WBC belt against Jean Pascal his record of fights in terms of caliber of opponents is unparalleled. That's not my opinion, that is a fact.
One could make the argument that that and the revolutionary super six tournament has had a a positive influence on recent and future match ups in terms of competitiveness.
There is a lot more to it than that and for the OP to say Froch is solely responsible for the improved match making in recent years is simply wrong.Comment

exactly, it was a split going into the 12th and the pundits had it a draw going into the 12th...Comment
