Roy Jones
He churned up a ton of hype and I thought he was unbeatable.
Then Tarver pushed him to the ropes and we found out that Roy's ambush style was all he had and the riddle was solved.
After that everybody was able to beat up Roy.Comment

Mark Breland.
110-1 as an amateur.
I wouldn't see say that he had me fooled, but when he lost to Marlon Starling, and then to Aaron Davis, I was like he didn't become the media darling that he was when he won the Gold medal and his first world title.
Michael Nunn is probably the guy who truly had me fooled. Beating Frank Tate, I was sold. The hook by Toney pretty much ended Nunn's momentum.
Donald Curry. I didn't catch the Honeyghan fight live, but when I heard he was roughed up by the Raggamuffin, and had his nose broke, AND he was stopped. I was shocked.
Naseem Hamed. I still love Hamed, but not coming back after the loss to Barerra was disappointing. That loss made me think that Hamed may not have the intestinal fortitude that he showed in the Kelly fight. I was never sold on Barrera either until that fight.Last edited by Frank Ducketts; 08-30-2013, 01:56 PM.Comment

Just stop it, lmao. Roy proved himself way before he turned 35 years old and lost that rematch.Comment

Paul Spadafora , yep NSB's favorite son. The guy who "schooled" Floyd in sparring was supposed to go on to do great things. All he ever did was get arrestedComment

Tavoris Cloud had me fooled. The way he went through Julio Caesar Gonzalez like he was swiss cheese was impressive.
He looked like a guy who could hurt anyone with both hands, never stopped throwing punches and could take one as good as he could dish one out.
He showed *****s in the armor against Woods and Johnson but still impressed me with his raw aggression and ability to overwhelm his more skilled opponents with volume.
When he couldnt get rid of Zuniga @ 175 after Zuniga he was stopped at 160 by Pavlik and 168 by Bute I really started to wonder if he was the same guy.
When he was outboxed badly early in the fight against Yusef Mack I knew I had been fooled. The KO covered up a terrible performance and allowed him to move on but I had given up at that point.
After seeing that I actually was inclined to bet on Campillo to beat him but didn't believe the Spaniard would get a fair shake - that fight was a disgrace.
I don't know if I would call him a hype job because I don't think he was always that bad. When he was younger he was like a rabid dog and at some point he lost that and his style became useless without that killer instinct.Comment

Nothing impresses me about Wilder, I see no technical skills whatsoever, all I see is a puncher who goes wild, I hope when he gets exposed those hyping him come back to this thread.Comment
