I don't understand how a hypejob can beat Bernard Hopkins. Does not compute.

But he would have lost to Calzaghe because Joe would have been too busy and rough for him, as would have Carl Froch who was also chasing Joe at the time. Only Joe would have had an easy night against Froch but Dawson would have been a much more difficult challenge, I think it would have been a close fight between them but Joe would be the one to make the adjustments and get the win.

I think Dawson is a great boxer but something is wrong mentally with him in his behaviour. Changing trainers ever 5 minutes and not being focused.

He only lost to Pascal because of a lack of focus he was just lazy and seemed bored and then got cut. When he did fight with a bit of urgency you could see he was far superior to Pascal.

Facing Ward at 168 was a ****** risk, and turned out to be big confidence killer.

For me Dawson is a well schooled and supremely talented boxer who may have wasted his potential already for reasons I don't know or understand. I hope he bounces back soon.

Dawson was overrated at one point, but he was damn good. I don't see how Tarver and Johnson being old mattered, even as old as they were they were among the best in the division. It's not like Dawson, say, beat up on a shot Roy Jones.

bad thread. dawson has good skills and can thump and a smashing resume and has held more than world title and appears to be fearless in who he fights.

A good measure of his great skill is the way he outclassed Bhop for 12 rounds, this tells us his skill level was high, consider Joe Calzaghe, frequently rated a decent boxer, was outboxed consistently by Bhop until Bhop gassed. So chad is a better boxer than Joe, that's not bad, is it? Joe did the right thing to run from him.

He doesn't yet appear to have the mindset for bouncing back from defeats or perhaps its just the longevity mindset he lacks.
