  • Dawson was such a hype job

The only times he fought young fighters he lost

Beaten up by a Montreal policeman, ko'd by a featherfisted *****, and banjoed in a single round by a haitian sex offender

And to think people thought this guy deserved to share a ring with Sir Joe

Chad is just another regular World Champion , they aint all Ray Robinsons , most guys that win WTs are quality fighters that when they peak they can win a WT and maybe defend it a few times , there has been lots of really good champions , and then you have the special ones .

The trouble in here is the over rated tag is because of the noise fans make putting them on pedestals , if you just sit back and watch all the fighters without the emotion , just watch the boxing you can compare things a lot more clearly , I hate seeing people say so and so was over rated because it just some jerks opinion , we all have our own ratings and we all think ours is right .

Its just a BS argument about nothing .

Don't think he's overrated at all. He's a pretty good fighter he's just not that great.

But I liked the way he was arrogantly approaching his fight vs Stevenson and got KTFO in 70 seconds. lol

I never liked the way HBO shelled out so much coin for such a noneventful fighter, but Chads a solid boxer.

He just ****ed himself over with the Ward thing and got his soul took.

not everyone is floyd mayweather or ricardo lopez, most fighters who fight the best each time out take losses at some point. joe didnt take that loss (if you dont count his gift against hopkins) because he cherry picked his opponents while chad the did the exact opposite and demanded he fought the best even if he had to put himself at a disadvantage to even get the fight.

as a result dawson lost to a great fighter in ward, got caught by a great puncher in stevenson and just had an off night against pascal (who is still better than all but one of joes opponents). looking at dawsons whole career its still very impressive, three losses isnt the end of the world when you have so many great wins on your record to go along with it.

if chad fought joes opposition he would be undefeated too, no doubt about it it. if joe fought chads he would have at least 5 or 6 losses.

all in all dawsons resume still defecates all over calzaghes and yes, he would have kicked joes ass if calzaghe would have had the guts to face him instead of cherry picking a shot old man. as would tarver and joes #1 boogeyman glen johnson who he spent most of his career running from in terror. both of whom dawson hold two wins over.

dawson is a fighter who not only took on all comers but did so under any circumstances, joe is the biggest navigator in boxing history. dont even put them in the same sentence.

Anybody think about if Dawson would have beat Ward?

"Two Ring belts, in two weight classes, and in Wards home town."

              There you go.

                  Are you ******ed? Seriously.

Adamek, Glenn Johnson, Hopkins, Tarver wins make you a hype. Joe Calzaghe didnt even have the balls to fight Dawson or Johnson and cherry picked Hopkins past prime

I think this is Dawson in a nutshell. He was always a good fighter with good skills and .... maybe lacked a bit of heart/fighting spirit. But he did what most world level fighters can do, he won a world title and defended it a few times. He was never gona be the type of fighter to clean out a division. If he people were talking about him as the next great light heavyweight then he is overrated, but if you saw him for what he was/is, a useful, world level boxer then he achieved exactly what we thought he would.
