Did Mosley or Clottey get into a position where they were the #1 contender for years and the public wanted to see the rematch whilst Cotto was the Champion and he turned it down?

Did that happen with Mares and Darchinyan?

How are those situations the same? Enlighten me.

Johnson beat Langford when he was a green MW.

Langford got himself into a postion where he was an experienced, solid Heavyweight and the #1 contender that people wanted to see and Johnson turned down the fight.

      Instead he got lesser fighters.

How's that not a duck? You think Johnson didn't avoid Langford?

No I don't believe Johnson ducked Langford to answer your question in short..

Oh and many people wanted to see those fights again..Which was the point of mentioning them..They were great close fights, not a ducked tho that the rematch never came about..

Nothing on how those examples are completely different and not alike to this situation?

The fact is Langford got himself into a position where he was the #1 contedner, polished, a legit HW (Not a green MW when they first fought) and people wanted the rematch and Langford deserved the rematch and Johnson didn't want the fight.

Deny it as much as you want that's what happened.

They are not the same at all though.

If Cotto was the long reiginig Champion and Clottey or Mosley got into a position where they were the #1 contender, highly improved, and legitimate at the weight and asked for the rematch and it was turned down and avoided then Cotto would be ducking them.

When did I say they were the same situation??The bottom line is I can't consider it a duck..I also believe the the word ducked is highly misused on this site..

You used to to support your idea that Johnson didn't avoid Langford.

If you're not saying that the situation is the same or similar then why did you use them?

Johnson avoided Langford. He was a completely different fighter from when they first fought, about 30 lbs heavier and a legitimate Heavyweight he deserved his rematch and Johnson avoided it.

It was presented and he avoided him to fight lesser opponents how isn't that a duck?

I just gave the example to show avoiding is not the same as ducking..Business and other things play into why a fight does not happen at times..Everything is not so black and white as a duck..
