I think he desparately needs a wilder on his résumé the same way Lewis needed a Holy and Tyson on his to confirm his greatness. If Wlad slithers out of boxing without facing his most dangerous challenger I think it brings up some serious questions about his credentials as a supposed top hw.
hell no. wilder isnt even tested yet. if wlad were to fight him soon and destroyed him everyone would just say wilder was too green

come on man. liahkovich was a walking corpse. wlad did take a few from haye and stood up rather well. haye is a small heavy but he does have big power

The Haye fight was BIG, the hype was crazy for several years leading up to the fight. It was the most anticipated heavyweight fight since Lewis-Vitali.

Lets not act like it was all Hayes fault the fight was a stinker either. Wlad didn't really push it and went for the knockout either... Haye did better than many act like he did, he wasn't destroyed or anything... he clipped Wlad with a few shots and went the distance.

I'd be surprised if Wilder did better than Haye.
It was 5 times more anticipated than Lewis-Vitali. But it depends on how you define "doing well". Because Haye lasted the 12 rounds, had his moment but was mostly dominated by the jab, though he didn't get hit too much.

If Wilder puts up a fight and takes it to Wlad but goes out on his shield, some will consider that a better challenge.

        And I would agree.

Wlad also got KD 3 times by Peter and came back to win the fight, in fact the only rounds in question were the ones with the KDs.
Wlad's chin is dodgy but no more so than Lennox or countless other heavies throughout history. Heck Joe Louis got knocked out by a guy who in the modern age would hit as hard as a cruiserweight.

Wlad's skill and heart can no longer be questioned. Having said all that, Wilder may well be a legit threat but we just don't know yet. He hasn't fought anyone other than bums or shot pros. If Wilder was to go on a run of fighting Helenius, Pulev, Mitchell/Arreola and beat them all, especially with KOs and Wlad avoids him, then we can talk about Wlad's legacy needing Wilder.

Right now, Wlad has beaten just about everyone who matters in the division, the last stone left was Pov and that fight is happening. Who else is there? price has shot himself in the foot. Fury will get stopped by Haye but he may come again. There's Pulev who obviously isn't in the same class, Helenius hasn't looked good in recent fights and Boystov is just being tested for the first time.

The only other super match up for Wlad post Pov is a fight with the Haye/Fury winner or the Chisora/Boystov winner. Other than that, he's cleared the division out and no matter how good some people think the likes of Wilder or Mitchell or Jennings are, they haven't done enough to earn a shot.

yea,,,there really isnt anyone out there. I actually think haye has the best chance if he can get a rematch. if he got more agressive hed have at least a good punchers chance. btw,,,I think povetkin is going to give wlad a much tougher fight then expected. wlad hasnt fought a good inside fighter in years so it may make it more awckward for him

No. Wilder needs to matter in the contender picture before I'll say anything about him and Wlad.

Solid chinned Liakhovitch has been KOd about 5 times in his 6 losses. And your comment, which you couldn't resist including, about Klitschko "slithering out of..." Shows you up as a vicious Klitschko denigrator and hater.

Normally I wouldn't answer a disgusting piece of drek, I'm doing it to show those who don't know, that your posts are to be avoided. You are not a boxing follower, just a piece of wind-blown paper caught in some temporary obstruction. Which means that the next gust will blow you away......

Agreed the hype was awesome for that fight. It was a HUGE HW fight, first since 2003.

                      Haye just didn't do anything.

Wilder is a flat-out beast. The 3 Americans are really generating a buzz in the US for HW boxing as is the Haye vs Fury fight on HBO.
