Its not his fault he's not American, or lucked into being the same nationality as Pacman (hence the Nonito push, trying to capture the same market).

Unfortunately, looks like Arum, HBO and others want him to lose really bad. Won't surprise me to see him pushed to fight Mikey Garcia who is huge and comes in heavy, and won't even weight.

I agree. Rigo needs to be more flexible about weight, and going over to GBP wouldn't hurt either. He also needs to understand that the Donaire win, while a great feat, did not magically make him a superstar.

he's got hall of fame stuff for sure, but the hall of fame isn't concerned exclusively with skills and talent. the voters look at your resume primarily. outside of donaire rigondeaux has an extremely ordinary resume. he has no wins of note other than donaire.



it's unfortunate, but i think rigondeaux has got his best win already. he'll be an "if only," type of fighter when we look back at him.

he is 32, tiny, and had several hundred amateur fights. 122 looks like a dead weight class. rigondeaux looks like a natural bantamweight. the downside of his career is not far away.

It's too late for Rigo to reach ATG status. He's already 30 and he only has 12 pro fights. Plus to mention at 122 he wont get enough creditable opponents to make his resume ATG.

I don't see Buster Douglas in the Hall of Fame for knocking out Mike Tyson. Rigo needs a lot more fights than a possible "One Hit" wonder of a fight against Donaire to be considered an ATG. The TS might have a point.

Unfortunately it's this right here. Great fighters are marked by their overcoming great opposition. In Rigondeaux's case, the great opposition just isn't there. Donaire will likely be the biggest win of his pro career unless he takes on Mikey Garcia three years down the line.
