How many fighters in Canastota have 25 or fewer fights?

Rigo has ATG talent and skill; unfortunately, he'll never realize his potential because he got the chance at a pro career too late in life.

And this is the other major reason why Guille won't be an ATG. There just aren't enough high quality opponents at 122 to make a short run at greatness, no matter how quickly Rigondeaux goes through them.

Rigo needs to fight a minimum of 3 fights a year against top 10 fighters. 3 top 10 fighters a year, with a couple of unifications here and there would be good for him

In any case, Rigo is 12 fights into his pro career. Its way premature for HOF/ATG talk. Plus his career is shortened because he's from Cuba. We will never know how great he would have been if he got to start his pro career in 2005 after winning his 2nd gold medal as opposed to 2009 at the age of 28.

Just enjoy what's left of his career and be happy that we got to see one of the greatest amateur fighters of all time compete at the pro level.

I think the most important thing that can come out of Rigo's career is to open doors for future Cuban amateur stars at the pro level. Guys like Robeisy Ramirez, who won a gold medal at age 18. If these guys can get opportunities to develop at the pro ranks and adjust to the pro style at a younger age, their chances of making the HOF or becoming an ATG will increase by a lot.

To me that's more important than Rigo himself becoming an ATG/HOF fighter.

Sly is an "observer" not a fighter.

which fighters in the lighter weight classes are even in the hall of fame let alone atg?

                mares? agbeko? vic? mareno?

rigo is already borderline in the hall of fame in just 12 fights............

                thats a huge accomplishment.

Him and his team are pushing but Arum and TR are putting nothing on his plate. All the while Nonito is fighting Darc again.

You can argue the specifics of what something consists of but I think Rigondeaux's pro career covers it.

I'm happy with him fighting every 6 months if they are always against a very high caliber of opponent.

Rigo is an older fighter but people age differently and he has been subject to different circumstances, so there may be a bit more left in the tank for him than people might think.
Oh it must have been in my dreams when he beat p4p top 5 Donaire.

Rigo is in a very tough spot...its not his fault really but he also has to control his own destiny.
