Floyd actually likes to lead in the middle of the ring, which leaves him open to counter opportunities. And since he's looking to counter in the middle of the ring, he makes sure his opponent barely misses so he'll be in position to counter. That makes him more hitable. Along the ropes, he's all defense. So he makes you miss by a mile.

If Floyd were a natural jr welterweight he would have made the 144 catchweight for the JMM fight with ease. He's a natural welter at this point. I think an argument can be made that he was a natural jr welter up until the Hatton fight. But since his "comeback", he's very much a solid welterweight.

To those saying floyd is a natural 140 fighter fighting at 147...can we please for the love of the sport get a fight night weigh in out of Floyd? Just once in recent memory. I am not exactly convinced the man comes into the ring at 147 on fight night and I do not think I am alone. I'm not assuming i'm asking for the scale to answer all of our questions.

I don't know man other fighters who have fought Canelo said he has heavy hands.

I never seen Floyd hurt or wobble guys the way canelo has or one punch KO Baldomir the way Canelo did.

Remember this is the same Shane Mosley who said Manny Pacquiao hit him the hardest he ever been hit and claimed that every Punch that Pacman landed on him hurt.

And we all know that Pacman doesn't have that type of power if he did JMM would have been sleeping and he hit JMM in their last fight with multiple combo and still couldn't put him on his ass all he did was bust his face up with gushing blood.

Shane doesn't know what he is saying anymore guys.

Canelo Ko'd Baldimor with 1 shot I didn't see Floyd do that to Baldimor. Why don't we ask Baldimor who hits harder since we all know Steroids helps you take a better punch Shane
Your argument is 40 year old baldomir and 40 year old Shane lmao I won't even debate this ******

Floyd fights pretty good off the ropes. See the Cotto and De la Hoya fights. He has a sneaky right counter. Wobbled Oscar with it in their fight. Yes he's more defensive on the ropes but he's definitely throwing. I think the word is he's "comfortable" on the ropes but more aggressive in the middle of the ring. Canelo's power is overrated but his speed is a little underrated. He'll go from long lulls then explode in a burst of speed. He's a sneaky fighter. This will be a good chess match.

exactly, its all in the styles and whos fighting, he said that about pacman and one point everyone thought pac was unstoppable but marquez and bradley both lasted with pac, marquez being able to put him away with a perfect shot, so unless canelo can come out and match floyd skill for skill hes toast!!

I was lucky enough to take a pic with both these guys and I'm 165...Canelo mass wise is 2 divisions higher and floyd is a 10th grade no size whoever thins he walks around 160 plus is crazy I can see Canelo being 180 easy without fat

I'm not saying Floyd doesn't fight off the ropes. My observation is that I've never seen him hit with anything major while he was on the ropes. Chop Chop and Mosley hurt him badly, in the middle of the rin. Judah dropped him, in the middle of the ring. The cleanest punches Cotto landed were in the middle of the ring.

Another observation I have of Floyd is that he tips his lead right hand. Whenever he's gonna throw it, he gets up on his back tip toe. I've been waiting for about 15 years for a fighter to notice that and time him with a counter left hook over the top of it.

As for him wobbling DLH with that sneaky right off the ropes, you're. Exacly right. It was in the 5th I believe. DLH always claims he got tired and forgot to throw his jab. Fuuny thing is he started getting tired and forgot to throw that jab around the same time Floyd came over the top of it with the right you're speaking about.
