In pacs last 7 fights he has done 1m plus ppvs, that shows you if the right guy aint there, the buys won't be huge. Showtime made a mistake in offering him the deal, hell even Floyd earned no ppv bonus on his last fight, so it cost them both money

A fight by fight basis keeps guys on their feet to get the right numbers without taking huge financial risk. One more Showtime flop and most likely Floyd and the ****** head if Showtime boxing will be sacked
    very valid point....

this is not really about pac or floyd....

this is about business acumen...and also about understanding boxing as a sport....

a very exciting, promising and a money-magnet like fighter could be down in a blink of an eye....and continue the downward spiral....

hatton, and boom boom just two that easily comes to mind...

Manny dont need deals. He sells no matter what. Hes an exciting fighter to watch. HBO is the #1 network for Boxing. everyone knows that.
They dont need to entices him with deals. He entices them. It would be terrible if the demoted him to another network like showtime.

They probably think it would be too hard to sell a guy that wont fight a winner or somebody in his own division .

Showtime bought out Floyd from HBO in a monster never before take over bid , nobody is trying to take Manny and HBO have already got him , network competition know he is just trying to get big cash out fight off the back of beating losing bums , everybody is on too him .

Oh the deal was good for Floyd no doubt. But it was bad for the network, and that's why HBO didn't offer it to Floyd or Pac or anyone. Of course, the losses would be smaller on HBO cause their brand is stronger

Very simple, floyd is a freelancer, his own man, he can sign his own promo deals with whoever he wants, pacquiao cant, he has a promotional agreement with top rank..
Showtime signed floyd and guarantee his purse, in pacquiaos case theyd have to sign it with top rank and arum would pay him, floyd get his money directly from sho..

So why didn't they offer the same deal to Floyd then? Probably cause they're not playing catchup, so don't have to resort to high risk plays with really bad downside

Pacman doesn't have a lot of haters who want to see him lose.

As soon as FMJ gets his first loss, his stock will significantly decline. That will satisfy the haters. Then there's no need for haters to see his comeback fight because they knew that if he wins, it's going to be a boring UD again. They're sick of that crap.

Ken Hershman said that Showtime deal was just a lil bit better than what they were offering so stop acting like HBO said flat out we don't want Floyd anymore.
