Because showtime are suckers to be honest. Mamma mia really??? I feel like throwing my drink at the tube everytime i hear that

Because Hbo are not ******. Look even tho Mannys last fight did 1.2m PvP compared to Floyd's 800k he like Floyd is not guaranteed to pull huge ppvs. Plus look at floyd, he got the contract and so fat had list Showtime around 20m dollars in poor PvP numbers. Hbo are keeping Manny on his feet
In pacs last 7 fights he has done 1m plus ppvs, that shows you if the right guy aint there, the buys won't be huge. Showtime made a mistake in offering him the deal, hell even Floyd earned no ppv bonus on his last fight, so it cost them both money
A fight by fight basis keeps guys on their feet to get the right numbers without taking huge financial risk. One more Showtime flop and most likely Floyd and the ****** head if Showtime boxing will be sackedComment

well its simple.
because he has back to back losses, with the last being a brutal KO!
and most importantly, because his past PPV's have been much ado abut nothing.
regardless of what people think, these networks make their decisions strictly on business..and it has to make sense.
some of these comments will have one think that HBO "let" Floyd walk..lets not forget that there was a bidding war between HBO and Showtime over Floyd, where HBO offered him a guarantee deal (a deal they have yet to offer Pac)..but obviously Showtime had a better offer that HBO couldnt mirror.

Pacquiao has a exclusive deal with HBO until the end of 2014
HBO knows Pac sells more than floyd which is why they dropped himComment

I am not sure why Manny was not offered a deal like that. Maybe people are right about Showtime being suckers but from Mayweather's point of view its a very nice deal. Showtime had to take a risk at some point. I am guess making this offer to Mayweather was their power move. Which they hope will pay off.
Manny doesn't seem to be complaining though. But I do feel from a strictly business perspective Floyd's career has been handled better. He has made more money and taken less punishment.
As far as legacy, Well Ill continue to let everyone else go back and forth over that.Comment
