  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko vs. Povetkin Card: Chagaev Will Face Pudar

According to Timur Du****ev, a manager of former WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (31-2-1, 20 KOs), his protégé will fight next on Oct. 5 as a part of a huge Wladimir Klitschko vs. Alexander Povetkin Moscow showdown, promoted by Andrey Ryabinskiy in assistance with Vladimir Hryunov at Olimpiyskiy Palace of Sports.

Chagaev, 34, who is presently rated #5 by the IBF and #8 by the WBA, will take on rugged Bosnia-born Serbia Jovo Pudar (30-3, 17 KOs) for the WBA I/C and Pudar’s PABA titles. According to Du****ev, the winner of the fight will oppose WBA #2 ranked Cuban Luis Ortiz (19-0, 16 KOs) in a bout either for a vacant WBA “Regular” title or, in case of a draw in the main event, for the WBA interim heavyweight championship (WBA #1 rated contender is David Haye). All either of them would have to do is come back and beat a top 50 opponent and they would be in todays heavyweight scene.

I know he beat them... Those 2 title defences vs top contenders in carl drumond & matt skelton will surely get him to the hall of fame. I wonder if the guys who said haye would be a ***** if he fought pudar( a few here claiming him as a possible opponent which ended up being fury) will say the same thing about chagaev fighting pudar...

They were just trying to ridicule Haye. That fight was NEVER on the radar.

Bet the same guy, no name needed (he's banned anyway), will say Chagaev is getting back on track lol.

I'm no haye fan but he didn't duck chagaev. Nobody ever ducked that guy. Why would they? Chagaev can't dictate anything & haye is the draw. Chagaev can't get a licence in many countries from his previous hep issues(not getting into that crap)& he hasn't fought outside germany since. If he can't fight in england the haye fight never would of happened nor will it ever. Maybe things have changed but noone would duck chagaev...
