Froch couldn't handle the Calzaghe era

He would be a fringe contender going to Germany to fight Calzaghe leftovers because he wasn't man enough be beat Joe. The best thing that ever happened to Froch's career is Joe moving up and retiring because he would've embarrassed Carl in his prime. Look at their resumes and you see one man has beaten the best while the other is a solid tier B fighter who couldn't get past an old worn out version of a man Joe wrecked.

    Disagree completely.

Froch's resume is, if not better, than much deeper than Joe's.

Froch would have been able to hang in any era.

Joe refused to fight Carl, though he offered Carl a shot when Froch was a regional level guy with no experience (as was his habit of picking opponents).

your post is built on lies.

Calzaghe moved up in weight. Froch was still fighting at domestic/Euro/fringe world level. Wasn't a viable fight. Stop revising history.

Just so we all understand..beating Kessler was considered one of JoeCal's most important wins.

No one disputes that Joe Calslappy was a great fight and in 100 fights with Froch he wins a majority of them. Problem is his resume is piss poor and he is mostly to blame for it. Don't try and discredit Froch for being a true warrior and a man of steel.

you stop. calzaghe's opponents were all low level except Kessler. Froch went from viable regional unknown on Cal's list to non viable as soon as he started winning at Brit level (ie too much for Joe), so that you are right on.

As for moving up, he avoided the same fresh top fighters at LHW. recognise the pattern?

Beating an older, mentally ruined Kessler is one of Ward's most important wins.

Beating an older Kessler after two tries in two close fights is Froch's most important win.
