Canelo had 35+ million watching him on TV in Mexico, so yeah I think he could comfortably do 350k buys and start the ball rolling.

Could Floyd even get 35m Americans watching him for free? Is boxing even that popular anymore Stateside?

You can't look at it that simplified though. DLH did 935,000 buys in his fight prior to Floyd and then when he fought Floyd they did over 2 million. Does this mean Floyd made up the difference? Of course not. Same thing goes for Canelo/Mayweather. The bump in PPV will be due in part to Canelo's drawing power but that isn't the sole reason.

It depends on the opponent. But that is with any fighter. For example, I would never buy a Floyd vs Kahn or a Floyd vs Alexander . I would not pay for a Manny v Rios or Manny v Alvarado. By the way did GBP/Sho ever release ppv for Mayweather v Guerrero?

Yes why not. He has a pretty big following already. Win or lose he is still marketable and is only 22

Big ticket seller doesn't automatically mean huge PPV draw.

i dont mean canelo will bring the whole difference but there is a reason this is call a megafight and he and floyd both are responsible for it...

Whilst he does have a few good wins on his résumé like Austin Trout and to a lesser extent Josesito Lopez, his résumé is mostly made up by the Matthew Hattons, Cintrons and Rhodes of today. Is he a big enough star to warrant a PPV show? Would you buy it? Say vs a good but not great opponent?
                      Something along the lines of

                      Canelo vs Martinez

and Definately Canelo vs Chavez Jr(doubtful he can make 160) would sell like crazy.
