Also I still think Mares is undersized for FW.... at least small
Most of us seemed to have forgotten this and wrote JG off. Dude has a 75% KO rate. To me, it looks like Abner underestimated him as well.

This was a quick 1st round KO loss. Not a brutal multi round beatdown that ended in a KO. He'll come back strong. Still can't beat Rigo though.

I'm not certain tough about a rematch
he's 27 years old, he isn't some young prospect.

he was exposed in this fight, IMO.

Always thought Mares was bit chinny, I remember few years ago he was fighting on undercard Pac Marquez 2 he got dropped by one Thai boxer and he was stiff.

He'll bounce back for sure. A true warrior who fights nothing but tough fights. I respect him more then others who need "tune ups" between big fights.

He'll be back just like Donaire. Hopefully Mares gets right back in there and wins 3-4 straight and they can rematch next fall.

How does a three division champion get exposed? By fighting a guy with almost 50 knockouts?

Don't know why people are calling mares a hype job or exposed, dude went up in weight, went past his physical limits beat ponce and then got destroyed by a puncher trained by nacho, bottom line is mares is a dam midget who shouldn't have gone pass 122 weight limit, this fight is a good example of why thier are weight classes

TBH, almost all the great fighters in the history of the sport have experienced devastating losses.

                    He will be back.

For whatever reason, boxing fans now n days are so quick to write guys off it's pathetic.
