I think Mares will bounce back. He was hurt but it's not like he took a sustained beating.

He should go down to 122 pounds. Not everyone needs to be like pacquiao and weight jump.He seems undersized at 126.

No saying if he will rebound or not. His next couple fights will be the most important fights of his career.

How can anyone claim Mares was being marinated? How?? The guy fought nothing but tough/hard fights back to back!

            Anyways...back to the topic.

What do y'all say? Will Mares bounce back and come back stronger? Or, will he be mentally ruined after his first devastating KO loss?
I don't think he's done, he'll be back and continue on with his career. However, tonight he was beaten by a better fighter and I do not see him beating Rigo, Donaire, or Garcia neither now nor in the foreseeable future.

Is that why he rehydrated 12 pounds overnight? He's lucky he fought nothing but 118 pounders at 122.

                Absolutely NOT!

I would still pick Mares in a rematch

                    50/50

He's a tough fighter, but his nut got cracked brutally and only time will tell how that effects him mentally.

Now he has been KO'd like that, I can see it happening again. He may have a good run like Khan did after Prescott, but that sort of KO leaves people knowing they stand a great chance and Mares possibly always doubting himself now

why does this matter? He's was clearly out of his element in terms of reach and body size.

yeah, he gained weight, but a bloated 5'4" is not the same as a natural 138 pounder.

I dont care how much weight he gains, he's too small to take on full fledge power of 126 lbs.
