Would Andre Ward be successful at light heavyweight?

It's very possible that Ward defeats the current champions of the LHW and CW divisions.
At that point, you might then ask "Would Ward be successful at HW?"
The question isn't as crazy as some would believe.
James Toney and Tomasz Adamek moved up several divisions and were fairly successful.
With both Klitschkos close to retirement, Ward would be fighting the younger guys like Fury, Jennings, Arreola, Chisora.
Ward could be like a Chris Byrd in there, quick, slick, and much smarter than the average HW.Comment

Yes. He has all the tools to be successful at the LHW division. I think he'll move up there soon, but he's waiting around to see if he can get bigger paydays with GGG, Chavez Jr, and a Froch rematch.Comment

I think he would dominate in the same fashion he does supermiddleweight. But he is looking for a payday waiting on Chavez..Originally posted by Freedom2013How would Andre Ward do at light heavyweight?

I think the times are a changing and people are expecting more from a guy that people say is the best or second best in the world. Time to move up and fight a guy that the networks will pay to see you against, Kovalev........make it happen.Comment

Which is precisely why he fought Dawson at 168 I guess? I know, I know, Dawson mentioned dropping down, just like Canelo....just like Canelo.Comment

Loeffler says they're willing to fight Kovalev at 175.
Sanchez says Ward is ducking him to protect his record (along with Froch, Chavez and Quillin).
Personally, I think GG should take his time in moving up. Clear out 160.Comment
