Sooner or later Rigondeaux is going to realize that fighters below 135 are rarely a big deal in the US and the further down you go the less you mean.
That is not even taking into account his style which is not exactly fan friendly and he doesn't speak English so he can't easily build a big fan base (plus he doesn't have a readily built in one that is large).
He needs to hustle and do whatever it takes to really make it, if he is unwilling to do that he will never advance beyond what he is now and will likely never make as much as he made against Donaire again unless some fighter that has more going for them decides to give him a shot.Comment

Here... May 10, 2013:
"Newly crowned WBC featherweight champion made a recent appearance on BoxingScene Radio to talk about his stoppage victory over Daniel Ponce De Leon."
...
"Mares said that he feels stronger at 122 pounds and that he would only consider moving down in weight for a shot at the Cuban who beat him in the amateurs."
...
"With Mares being promoted by Golden Boy and Rigondeaux co-promoted by Top Rank, the fight is highly unlikely to materialize."Comment

So he is depending on Frampton's good graces to get paid again~
Rigondeaux has seen his career high payday while Mares will likely keep making more and more.
I knows which career I would rather have going forward, and it isn't the Cuban'sComment
