For who? Us boxing enthusiasts who are going to watch/purchase the fight anyway? I'm talking about the casual fanbase who need to be sold into buying the fight.

I'm from San Diego. The mexican homies always got something cooking on the grill and got unlimited corona and tequila. Which makes watching the fight rowdy and entertaining.. Have fun in vegas thought, nothing like being on the strip during fight week. Where you gonna stay at?

You don't know anything about psychology or marketing.

How many people have been to the great wall throughout history? Probably billions. Having Pacquiao and Rios there connects with people on a much more emotional level. And alot of people care about the Great Wall because its one of the 7 wonders of the world.

And Yao Ming is the greatest Chinese basketball player ever. Thats like saying if Michael Jordan was at the Canelo-Floyd press conference no one would care. MJ would never be caught associating with Floyd tho cuz its bad for his image.

It'll do over a Million buys, but those talks of "2.5 Mill" buys or even 1.8 after thinking about it may be out of reach. I agree also that the fight hasn't been promoted as much as I thought. Cotto vs Mayweather had a lengthy press tour too (not 10 city but still) and HBO was promoting the hell out of that fight. I honestly remember more build ups for the Mosley, Cotto, De La Hoya, and even the Ortiz fight which was "Floyd's comeback" fight.

Here in Nyc there were giant billboards up, posters on buses and in the subway system, TV commercials, etc. The Floyd/canelo fight is less than a month away and I have yet to see any type of advertisement for it whatsoever.

My bday is actually that wknd and a friend of mine who owns a bar is going to order the fight and have a post fight bday party there as well and to he totally honest, many casuals don't or didn't know Floyd was fighting and/or who he's fighting.

Now I'm amped for this fight and especially for the Garcia/Lucas bout but I have a feeling that the #s will fall far short of what gbp and showtime are expecting and it will be a lack of promotion to blame.

Now maybe it's just here in Nyc, but is anyone else in other states also witnessing a lack of promotion/advertisement for this upcoming fight?
Mayweather/De La Hoya was the most promoted fight in history because of 24/7. They have already been on a 11 city tour and the All Access show will do plenty to promote the fight. It won't sell 2.5 million like Mayweather/De La Hoya because Alvarez is nowhere near as popular or as big of a draw as De La Hoya, but it will do better than any other non-heavyweight fight in history.

I live in Los Angeles and there is a billboard on the 5 north towards East LA of Bradley and JMM.

I have not seen any billboards or anything on buses of Mayweather vs Canelo.

Not sure what GBP is thinking not promoting the fight at least little in LA more.

I've seen the the DirecTV commercial a few times. I saw the commercial as a preview in the movie theater but not much after that, I've actually seen more promotion for the Guerrero fight than this one but there's still a few weeks left so only time will tell.
