What I dont understand about these city tours is, unless you're a big boxing fan who actually attends these events, who knows about them? When they have them here in NYC it takes place about 10 minutes from my job yet unless you're a boxing fan who follows the sports current events, you wont know anything about it. These tours pretty much cater to those who plan on purchasing the ppv anyway!!Comment

I was at the gym the other day on a jog and I was shadow boxing for fun, and more than 4 people asked me who was gonna win the fight (this was outside randomly)What I dont understand about these city tours is, unless you're a big boxing fan who actually attends these events, who knows about them? The 10 city tour was forgettable.
Pac-Rios was far more memorable. They had pics of them at the Great Wall and with Yao Ming. I can't remember any pics from Canelo-Floyds tour.Comment

Like I said, maybe it has to do with where you live. In NYC there's barely any type of fight advertisement what so ever. With my verizon fios I get showtime for free and I have yet to see anything on showtime regarding the fight. Not losing sleep over it. I just find it weird for a fight of this magnitude.Comment

this thread is the promotionIf Shaefer thinks this fight is going to draw anywhere near what floyd/Oscar drew then he's kidding himself. Why? The Floyd/Oscar fight was promoted like no fight I have ever seen. Here in Nyc there were giant billboards up, posters on buses and in the subway system, TV commercials, etc. The Floyd/canelo fight is less than a month away and I have yet to see any type of advertisement for it whatsoever.
My bday is actually that wknd and a friend of mine who owns a bar is going to order the fight and have a post fight bday party there as well and to he totally honest, many casuals don't or didn't know Floyd was fighting and/or who he's fighting.
Now I'm amped for this fight and especially for the Garcia/Lucas bout but I have a feeling that the #s will fall far short of what gbp and showtime are expecting and it will be a lack of promotion to blame.
Now maybe it's just here in Nyc, but is anyone else in other states also witnessing a lack of promotion/advertisement for this upcoming fight?Comment

But you gotta understand that they're expecting each of those people to spread the word like venom in a colony. Another thing is Floyd has calm down, he's not "younging" out anymore, so it does give that sense like something is missing. What I dont understand about these city tours is, unless you're a big boxing fan who actually attends these events, who knows about them? I'll wait till this weekend, even tho I don't need the hype, to see if the hype is needed for sales.Comment
