Welsh version of Victor Ortiz, "I'm young and I don't deserve to be beat up like this".

Clev will be back he's just feeling down and embarrassed.

Agree that its not bad because of the lack of time he wouldve had to actually spend on his degree but financial employers won't care about his boxing career.

I'd still say Euro level boxing and eventually getting a world title of some description (because he is better than 90% of LHW's) would be a better career option.
Agree Clev ain't gonna be masterminding a hedge fund, but he should be proud of his achievements. I got a better degree than him, but no way would I have managed to get even a Douglas Hird if I did the training that he had to whilst at uni.

      PS. I don't mastermind a hedgefund btw :-)

Kovalev's power got fighters second-guessing their careers, dayum lol. I wonder who will be the next LHW to get a reality check.

Clev is a pretty confident fighter, and for Kov to snatch all of it away in four rounds is saying something.

As soon as i heard cleverly comparing kovalev to jeff lacy i knew they were underestimating him. Guys like lacy and tavoris cloud are punchers but theyre also plodders that can be outboxed easily.

          Kovalev aint no plodder.

Not only that, but Terry O'Connor injured his back at the end of the third round

Don't blame him to be honest, if he doesn't need the money from boxing there is no point in subjecting his body to unnecessary damage. Have a lot of respect for fighters who continue boxing after making millions, but that would never be me.

If his heart is not in it 100% he should retire. You can die in the ring, it's not a game, if you're not totally focused on it then don't even bother.

Wow. I was a big believer in Cleverly, and he was by far one of my favorite fighters to come from the UK in many years. Hell, I thought he had world class ability. More shocking than his loss is how easily he gives up. With his mentality it probably is best for him to retire before he gets himself hurt.

Of course not, since no one else is going to beat him up like that. Still, it's a personal decision.
