A lot of fighters talk like this after a lost. Holyfield said he may retire after the James Toney lost...

He talked a lot of ****, and worked hard as he said so no excuses. It's embarrassing to work so hard and chat ****, then lose like a bum. He knows he isn't the best in the World.

Look at Prince Naz, simply lost the spirit after a lost, even though he kind of lost it pre training anyway.

Cleverly is smart, he has a degree in Maths I believe, he can make more money than most of us in banking or whatever, but not more than what he was making as a boxer. He will be back and I feel it is just him being sad and talking how his heart feels right now.

I think it's just an initial reaction after a first defeat, which can hit boxers very hard especially when they are well into the career. I remember Ricky Hatton saying that the Mayweather defeat totally crushed him and that's when he fell into a spiral of depression. I'm sure given time Cleverly will have the motivation to comeback.

... Now Cleverly finally acts like someone who holds a university degree in Pure Math...
... "Logic" is part of the curricula when studying mathematics...
        ... Better later than never...

this is exactly the reason I was glad he wasn't out on his feet or unconscious when they stopped it...
I don't think he holds a Master of Arts degree... Is more likely that he holds a major univ. degree in pure math...
          Which is enough, anyway...

... Pacquiao or Martinez can't even understand a Rambo movie script...
            ... Clev studied Wittgenstein.
... Does this make any sense to you?

I hope he stays in Boxing, but he could potentially earn more money working on the trading floors of London.

Maths degree from a good university and former world champ. You see it happen with the rugby players when they retire.

Just curious do you know Martinez or the Pacman personally or have you ever had an in-depth conversation with either one of them?

This is what that kind of loss does to your psyche. He went from undefeated champion to a broken man. I think after a long layoff he will return.

I hope he doesn't retire. I know it's mentally tough for all fighters to accept their first loss but i'm a strong believer that time heals all wounds. He's probably just saying whatever's on his mind but it gets blown out of proportion cause he has cameras and microphones in front of him. I think he'll change his mind and come back. It's clear though, KOvalev took a lot out of his confidence. I doubt he'll ever be the same fighter.
