Lol imagine if guys like Pacquiao or Martinez quit because of one stoppage loss. We wouldn't have the great fighters we ended up with

He's not the first person to get levelled by kovelev and he wont be the last.

If he retires i wish him all the best but he could easily improve his defence and rebuild.

starting with a new trainer his dads intructions in that fight were all over the shop to much emotion in the corner is not always a good thing.

He is 26 years old made good money out of the sport and has a chance to get out with a lump of change and his faculties in tact. I never saw him lasting at the highest levels and he has had a great run. He may be right ,in his case quitting may be the best thing to do. However Kovalev is the real deal and there are few fighters out there capable of putting that type of beating on him. Froch is one of them. He can do well in the sport but not achieve the heights the hype behind him would have suggested.
Deep inside he knows that now. It may well be that if he feels he can not compete at the highest level boxing holds no interest for him and spanking junk that Warren puts in front of him for pay days may hold no attraction for him. If that is what is going on the guy deserves respect for thinking the way he is right now.
I felt he was biting off more than he could chew with Kovalev and he deserves props for taking the fight. IMO the odds were heavily stacked against him ,he put everything on the line and came up short. Having been protected by Warren this fight was a real test to see if he could cut it at the highest level. He gave it a go and just does not have it he could be right about calling it a day.

cleverly is one of the few fighters who doesn't actually need to box...he's got a masters degree in math so he'll be able to live a comfortable live without taking punishment

this is exactly the reason I was glad he wasn't out on his feet or unconscious when they stopped it...
