    Brilliant.

And the whole "best aren't fighting the best" nonsense sure doesn't hold up with the general (and quite frankly, 100% correct) consensus that paper titles are just that, paper titles. The only MW champ that probably has a chance against GGG is Sergio Martinez circa 1-2 years ago. It's really GGG/a Martinez that probably doesn't exist anymore as the best and then all the rest. What does GGG really prove by demolishing a poor chap like Barker?

Probably not, but why dwell on the hypothetical when we can look at facts? Nice way to diminish everything about Sergio's career, but the truth of the matter is, he paid his dues to earn his spot regardless how it was done. GGG is definitely the next man in line, and should beat a faded Martinez, but until that happens I'm not ready to call GGG the man at MW just yet. All I'm saying.

Barker - Eddie Hearn already said that he would only fight Golovkin if there were no other possible options and now Barker has a belt they're going to milk it. Domestic showdown, mandatory, domestic showdown, maybe Geale rematch

Quillin - Safe and sound over on Showtime thanks to the network dispute knowing he's protected from the top guys especially Golovkin.

Martinez - Will take another tune up bout coming off a injury then probably look for a Cotto money fight while continuing to hold the lineal claim hostage fighting #9 and 10 ranked guys.

Best hope is now that Geale doesn't have a belt he'll be willing or now Pirog is healthy he'll be willing to next year after a comback fight.
Still crying? Give it up already!!

            That's what I'm saying.

People need to learn to enjoy boxing a bit, the division is on fire, Martinez and GGG don't need to fight each other for it to be great. Heck Macklin one of the top 10 leadings MWs already had a go at GGG, I'm sure, if the money's right there will be plenty more. Add to that possible fights for Martinez, Barker, Geale and Murray, who are all legit, top level guys, damn I like this.

ive been saying this for over a year already, yet ppl wanna ignore the truth. its a crap division. simply put. if golovkin wants to make noise, he will need to move up sooner or later. of that i have no doubt.

This is another example of why boxing is considered a pathetic joke of a sport by mainstream media,,,

you have alot of talent and interesting matchups

                  serg
                  ggg
                  quillen
                  barker
                  murray
                  sturm
                  geale

And yet we will be lucky if 1 or 2 of those fights happen over the next year or so......

And us fans know this, and we are all acting like its business as usual, and the sad fact is, that is how business is done,,,

That is just another example of why boxing is a pathetic joke of a sport to the general public,,,

Try explaining the division to a casual fan, or somebody that only knows boxing thru rocky movies... conversation would go like this

"OK serg is the main champ, but everybody thinks GGG is the best, but no one will fight him,, Murray fought serg and got robbed"

Why doesnt ggg and serg fight

"oh because serg is coming off a long layoff and his handlers dont want to fight ggg after that"

but didnt brock lesnar and GSP in the ufc come off long layoffs and defended their belts vs top guys..

"yes but that is ****** MMA.. After serg, ggg, murray, you have champion kid chocolate, but he fights on showtime so he wont get any major fights"

But why not, he is a champ right, but wait i thought serg was the champ"

"serg is the champ, and so is ggg and so is quillen, and barker just beat geale to become champ.."

Wait, who the hell is geale and barker,, how are those guys champs,, I thought it was serg, ggg, and quillen,, now your telling me there is geale and barker,,,, Are there any one else that is champion"

No, thats all the champs,, but they probably wont fight each other

why not, why wont they fight each other,,, im confused,, UFC does it all the time,,,

Well this is boxing, and its different, its complicated,, these guys are all from different countries...

but so are all the guys in ufc,, they got guys from america, canada, mexico, brazil, russia, england, denmark, japan,

Quit talking about UFC,, this is boxing,, its just different,,,,,,,

This is why boxing is a complete and utter pathetic joke of a sport,,,,,,,

I love how everyone just randomly started to assume that Martinez is a coward after Golovkin became significant. Martinez has given you every indication in the world that he is extremely brave and wants to fight the best opponents possible. He was himself one of the most avoided boxers for years and has never dodged anyone. He took on Paul Williams who was officially the most avoided fighter in the sport. Even more he was willing to go to war with him. Just look at how brutal their first fight was and how much courage Martinez showed.
