    MW Division is Depressing

The best MW Golovkin isn't going to ever get to prove it in the ring because all the other pretenders will avoid him.

Barker - Eddie Hearn already said that he would only fight Golovkin if there were no other possible options and now Barker has a belt they're going to milk it. Domestic showdown, mandatory, domestic showdown, maybe Geale rematch

Quillin - Safe and sound over on Showtime thanks to the network dispute knowing he's protected from the top guys especially Golovkin.

Martinez - Will take another tune up bout coming off a injury then probably look for a Cotto money fight while continuing to hold the lineal claim hostage fighting #9 and 10 ranked guys.

Best hope is now that Geale doesn't have a belt he'll be willing or now Pirog is healthy he'll be willing to next year after a comback fight.

Well, only other title holder he can fight or has a chance to fight is Martinez. If HBO Builds him up big enough and offers the right money to Martinez, totally a possibility.
    Only problem is Lou.
Just got to convince him that the last big pay off before he retires is there to take

It really comes down to money. $300k isn't deemed enough by the best MW opponents to risk their records and health. HBO should take a financial risk with him, offer opponents like Martinez $1m+

I think they will next year.
Remember, he's fighting on there 3 times this year and maybe a fourth in December.
They're getting a great deal right now with the amount of times he's fighting and the ratings he's bringing in.
If he fought Martinez, no doubt HBO would cut a bigger money deal and offer Martinez the better half

I watch boxing to watch great fights, not to jack off over Golovkin. Calling the division depressing after the fight we just saw is ******.

GGG isn't the best MW, at least not yet.

It is a bit annoying that the best aren't fighting the best though.

At least Stevens stepped up. 2014 hopefully will be great .

Though the IBF title will likely be held hostage now, at least there will be some competitive match-ups made. I don't mind Barker milking it a little, but whoever holds the IBF belt will have to fight 3G sooner or later.

Because you're a real boxing fan, stfu.

It was a terrific fight but no real fan wants to see the top guys in a division avoiding others and milking titles. There also isn't a more clear example of it than in the MW division currently. Matthysse and Kovalev may be confronted with it too at some point and Wlad having top contenders turn down title shots is also a good example.

Dude, Geale vs Barker wasn't even impressive... neither showed anything spectacular, honestly... I found the fight very average.
