Jeez some folks don't know when to turn the fandom off..sure he's fought some smaller guys..sure he's being groomed for bigger things..I don't see the same level of hate Canelo gets from Mayweather fans being dished at Broner. At least Canelo fought Trout..who has broner fought?Comment

I dont remembr ever seeing Floyd in a non entertaining fight! We dont need a war here. What we need is a healthy Floyd to come out of this & keep ****ing em out for the next 28 months. Swell him up thou Floyd but dont pound him, let em live to fight another day. Enroll him in the skool of "Speed Kills" thou... jajaComment

I think Guerrero got beat down. I think Cotto was on his way out in the 12th, he got beat down. Floyd beats guys up, he doesn't punish them unmercifully lol, but don't make light of a fighter because you don't like him lmaoComment

Granted he did take out Demarco and beat Malinaggi, who both were champions. But I do agree with your premise. They're quick to harp on Canelo's lack of opposition but praise Broner.Jeez some folks don't know when to turn the fandom off..sure he's fought some smaller guys..sure he's being groomed for bigger things..I don't see the same level of hate Canelo gets from Mayweather fans being dished at Broner. LMAO at all the posters absolutely sure that Canelo is beating up on smaller guys.
By Dan Ambrose: One of the sparring partners that WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Canelo Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KOs) has been using to get ready for his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KOs) next month on September 14th is Shane Mosley Jr., the son of former three division world champion Shane Mosley.
Why Canelo would choose to use the 61, 165 lb. Mosley Jr. to get ready for the 58, 150 lb. Mayweather is anyones guess.
Shane Mosley, certainly not a small dude, he is fighting at 154.
Tito Ramos, another undefeated JR. Middleweight
A source within Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s team has advised BoxingScene.com that unbeaten prospect Humberto “Tito” Ramos will be among the junior middleweight champion’s sparring partners to prepare him for his Sept. 14 pay-per-view clash with Floyd Mayweather. Ramos (12-0, 7 KOs), a native of Mexico who now resides in San Juan, Tex., is an unbeaten boxer-puncher that has fought in relative obscurity. The 25-year-old welterweight fought at the junior middleweight limit for the first time in April, outpointing Isai Monrreal south of the border in his hometown of Reynosa.
Still waiting to see these smaller guys that Canelo is allegedly beating up on....and no, I don't care to see a pic of that punk Solis with his gapped teeth.
However; on the other hand, we have Floyd Mayweather, a Junior Middleweight (154 pound weight limit) bringing in Ashley Theopane as a sparring partner, and I quote:
"Ashley Theophane as Mayweathers Sparring Partner, highly ranked British welterweight boxer, Ashley Theopane"
http://www.themayweathervsalvarez.com/news/ashley-theophane-as-mayweathers-sparring-partner.html
Why is Floyd draining 154 pound champs for 154 pound titles and beating up on smaller welterweights?
I think you guys may be pointing the finger at the wrong boxer.Comment

He didn't beat down Cotto, but he controlled those last those rounds..really well. That's what champions do. As for Guerrero, it was pure clinic.Comment

thats why they are sparring partners. he's playing right into mayweather hands. this is going to be some funny ****. and the disappointed alvared fans and the butt hurt, jealous mayweather haters are going to see money take his game to another level and embarrass this kid.Comment

definition of a beatdown: "To beat someone up very badly, to the point of them being on the ground". "Severly assaulted". "A severe beating delivered with the hands". Again, Floyd OUTPOINTS, he doesn't do beatdowns. You act like it is a Sin to outpoint another fighter. Beatdowns were when he was south of 140.Last edited by richardt; 08-16-2013, 12:34 PM.Comment
