Honestly though the closer this fight gets to fruition I'm starting to believe in Canelo. He has this really quiet almost scary confidence. He's not being boastful and trying to show hes a man he just seems like he's waiting to murder Floyd. The first few rounds are going to be intense. He seems to really truly believe in himself.

Damn I can't help but start feeling worried about picking Floyd for this.

Cotto had the same calm and quiet demeanor, and where did that get him?

Why Canelo would choose to use the 6’1”, 165 lb. Mosley Jr. to get ready for the 5’8”, 150 lb. Mayweather is anyone’s guess.

Shane Mosley, certainly not a small dude, he is fighting at 154.

Tito Ramos, another undefeated JR. Middleweight
A source within Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s team has advised BoxingScene.com that unbeaten prospect Humberto “Tito” Ramos will be among the junior middleweight cham

Still waiting to see these smaller guys that Canelo is allegedly beating up on....and no, I don't care to see a pic of that punk Solis with his gapped teeth.

However; on the other hand, we have Floyd Mayweather, a Junior Middleweight (154 pound weight limit) bringing in Ashley Theopane as a sparring partner, and I quote:
"Ashley Theophane as Mayweather’s Sparring Partner, highly ranked British welterweight boxer, Ashley Theopane"

          http://www.themayweathervsalvarez.com/news/ashley-theophane-as-mayweathers-sparring-partner.html

Why is Floyd draining 154 pound champs for 154 pound titles and beating up on smaller welterweights?

I think you guys may be pointing the finger at the wrong boxer.
Like so many others, you're overanalyzing every angle of this fight.

As it relates to the sparring partners issue, it's quite simple: Canelo cannot find sparring partners who will truly prepare him for Floyd. It's not just about style, although that is an issue. It's about all of the intangibles Floyd brings into the ring (intelligence, ability to adapt, etc.).

Floyd, on the other hand, has fought and beat men naturally larger and "stronger" than he is. It's reasonable to argue that Canelo is the largest and the strongest, and that's what makes the fight so interesting. If Canelo is going to win, he has to prove that size matters. If he cannot simply overpower Floyd and hurt him, there is little reason to believe he has the skill to outbox Floyd for 12 rounds.

All Floyd needs to do is come into the ring in tip-top shape with the quickness and reflexes he had in the Guerrero fight. At this point, there's no reason to believe he won't.

Come September 14, it's basically up to Canelo to make the fight and see if his size advantage is actually an advantage. If it isn't, and he can't hurt Floyd or gasses out, he will be no more difficult for Floyd than Guerrero was, even if he weighs 170-plus. In fact, if Canelo comes in heavy and his strategy doesn't bear fruit, it's not inconceivable that Floyd could KO the kid.

Guerrero was a small welter? Compared to Floyd?.....interesting.

I agree. Cotto caught a beating man. It's just the beating wasn't as vicious as Pacquaios and Margaritos.

I never understood why some fighters brutalize their sparringpartners. Don't they understand that these guys are there to help? They are to no use if they get knocked out of rotation in a show of who's the boss.
