CompuBox statistics showed that, in terms of overall landed punches, Pacquiao out-landed Marquez in nine rounds. Marquez out-landed Pacquiao in one (Round 8). They landed an equal number in two (Rounds 3 & 9). In terms of power punches landed, according to CompuBox statistics, Pacquiao out-landed Marquez in eight of the rounds.

Now, the above is on a round by round bases, exactly as you guys wanted. So in 9/12 rounds Pacquaio out landed Marquez, and in 2 rounds they both landed the same amount (can be scored either way) and in 1 fricken round Marquez scores more punches and you guys actually think he won the fight? Marquez even had the nerve to lay back in the last 2 rounds because of Nachos comment, then calls it a ****ing robbery?

The reason people call it a robbery is because Marquez seems to do better than expected or improve, i.e. 3 knockdowns 1st, 1 in the 2nd, and none in the 3rd. Essentially though he still got beaten, and that's that. When it comes to the Marquez fight people are too quick to jump on the "robbery" bandwagon without doing any research.

    3-0-1 (technically)

2-1-1 (officially, because of dumb judge in first fight)
Good post,, but i disagree,,, i never go by punchstats because nobody even knows how many landed or are their stats legit,,,, its virtually impossible to sit there and count every punch,,,, thats why i dont rely on compubox,,,,

I get what your saying,, your using facts, but i just dont trust the accuracy of compubox,,, i prefer to use my own eyes,,, i thought jmm clearly outboxed manny 7 rounds to 5,,,,,,,,,

thats just my opinion,,,, Stats can deceptive,,, and i truely believed manny lost this fight,,, he tried to box jmm and jmm is a much better pure boxer,,,,

for the record, i thought manny won the first 2 fights, jmm won the 3rd, and manny was winning the 4th till the ko......

Whilst stats are a factor, this isn't amatuer boxing and all about a competition to see who can merely touch the other more. I wanted pac to win that fight at the time. But he clearly lost it to me and 2 other pac fans I watched it with. Jmm is defensive whereas pacman all about activity. The stats are always gona look like that with these two guys styles. But jmm landed the more significant punches and made pac look amateurish at times.

Exactly. That was either a Marquez win or a draw (no idea how you'd get that) at worse. No way Pac won 7 rounds.

3 of the first 4 rounds, 3/4 of the last 4 could easily go to pacquiao

seriously, i know there are alot of clueless ******s on here, but it takes a ****** to think the fight was anywhere near a robbery

marquez did good in rd's 5-6 or 7, every other round was close as sht or a pacquiao round

too many morons on here that dont have the slightest clue on how to score a round screaming robbery

lol, there are even some guys that think you can win rounds on "ring generalship"(or just moving, cuz it looks smart) alone without landing punches

How could it be voted robbery of the year by The Ring when PWill Lara happened in the same year? You're wrong, it was an anonymous online poll. You see how credible those are.

On press row cards (named experts) it was a textbook draw:

                      http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Ma..._(3rd_meeting)

Among the unofficial scorers above, 57 scored the bout for Marquez, 51 scored the bout for Pacquiao, and the remaining 36 scored the bout a draw.
