Be great to see an American at the top of the HW division. And that's my American bias showing.

But I'm more of a fan of the sport then anything.

He keeps on progressing and knocking people into epileptic seizures, great.

As far as him "saving", or being the face of the sport, don't see it happening.

Doesn't have the charisma or the type of hype that a say, Tyson had.

He keeps landing those Omega Beam right hands on people, hey, who knows.
Great post I agree 100%, the bold stuff made me laugh like hell but this is pretty much where I stand right now with Wilder, I do hope he does make it to the top of the heavies but he still has some ruff edges to smooth out.

What gets me mad is if Wilder was british, puerto rican, mexican, irish, polish, he'd have a HUGE fanbase and draw huge crowds at his fights. Because other nationality's simply back their fighter regardless of his potential. Its called support.

Americans will sit behind a computer and bash their own people simply because they see flaws.

I cant think of one american who can draw well here in the US.

The average age for his opponents is like 37 or 38

Most boxing fans seem to be pessimist or maybe that's not the right word. But...a lot of people can't wait to use the word duck and exposed around here.

I hope Wilder is the real deal and I am interested to see where this goes

I think Wilder needs to fight someone in the top 10 before people start riding his Joc

Well he has plenty of tools to work with and his fights are suspenseful because they will likely end in a sudden ko but if he is to become the "real deal" he has to develop as a fighter and improve skill wise, this all depends on him and his dedication I hope he can do it.

He only had 35 amateur fights ( which i didn't know because i don't watch amateurs often) so that really explains the slow decent in his competition level. He will end up like price if he doesn't get rounds. Dominick Guinn is the logical choice because of his chin & lack of activity. One thing guinn can do is punch harder then harold sconiers. Someone mentioned kevin johnson & he is another good option. Other notables i'd consider are neven pajkic, fres oquendo, malik scott. Chisora could be too much at this point. I will be patient. 35 fights & 28 pro fights isn't much experience... Hasim rahman only had 10 amateur fights & won 2 world titles...

any puncher is worth rooting for
Wilder will add excitement to a division that needs it
Liakovich hasn't done jack since the Brewster win
but Wilder did what needed to be done to a journeyman like that
there's guys Wilder can beat, just don't see him getting to Wlad
no reason not to support him though
gotta go back and view some of his previous fights
