Personally, if I were managing Deontay, I'd go for it (i.e. the highest-ranked opponent possible) if I could. He's not nor will ever be a finesse fighter anyway. His strength is his strength -- and it is fearsome. Can you really blame any top ten HW for not having any excitement about scheduling The Bronze Bomber?!
I'd go for it if its a klitchko,,, losing to them will be expected, career high payday, plus if wilder loses he can still fight the fury, adameks, aerreolas etc

I would only cash out for the biggest fish...

but lose to a fury or haye etc and he may never get a klit shot

ustinov, tua, wach, kevin johnson. anybody with a chin and a style that will go rounds will do. to be fair, they've tried that before, and he's stopped them.

i want to see him in one or two fights that are several rounds (at least 4, preferably eight,) and then i think he'll be ready as he'll ever be for a step up. he's not going to turn into some fleet boxer at this stage. he can hardly box. he needs to fix his flaws enough where he won't be outclassed, and try and land his power.

        Actually I totally overlooked this.

But Chisora vs. Wilder could be a very good test and fight.

Pajkic, guinn, mccall(bad idea but he's never been down & pushing 50)... Guinn or pajkic. Guinn has the best chin but pajkic is s tough SOB with a good chin. He will be in wilder's kitchen as long as it lasts. I've seen him take massive bombs & keep coming...

Good answer he is a plodding punching bag that Wilder should be able to beat but as evident in the Wlad fight he can handle some punishment.

This fight makes a lot of sense, especially because Wilder and Malik Scott are good friends.

They already have a background story about revenge for this one.

I say Tony Thompson because of his overall physical ability; He stands at 6'5 inches tall, In addition, he is a very cagey and crafty veteran with lots of experience. He gave Wladimir all he can handle in their first meeting, by slowing down the pace and extending him for eleven rounds by neutralizing his jab until succumbing to Klitschko's huge right hand. Also, he is a very awkward southpaw who he can still hit, even at the age 40. In my opinion, this would be Deontay Wider's biggest test of his young career.
