So how do you explain Floyd Mayweather being the highest grossing fighter in the history of the game? People enjoy entertaining fights. But they also enjoy seeing the best perform. I've seen several 4rd swing fights on ESPN that matched two at or below .500 fighters that were entertaining. But at day's end, who gives a **** how entertaining it was if the result is irrelevant in the sport.

Rigondeaux has shown great skill, yet currently is being downplayed for it. Boxing is a science not just two thugs/brutes going at it, and Rigondeaux is one of the few out there with a Doctorate!

Pathetic move by HBO and By Arum who completely disrespected his fighter! Go to GoldenBoy Rigo!

I'm not a huge fan of amateur boxing. But I do make it a point to watch the Olympics every four years. And to me, likely due to the scoring system, amateurs throw a lot of punches and don't seem to sit down on the. IMO Rigo has more of a pro style. He is a great counterpuncher and even better defensively. The only thing "borish" about Rigo's style is that he often falls in love with his defense, and while doing so neglects his offense. Especially late in the fight when he's clearly ahead on the cards.

If people are willing to continually shell out 60-70 bucks knowing they're not gonna be entertained, for the sole purpose of seeing Floyd lose. I have serious concerns about the intelllegence and mental health of americans. But either way, whether you're tuning in to see him win or lose. The intrigue comes from the fact that he is a great fighter. If he were some dip**** shootin' his mouth off, no one would pay him any attention.

As for Rigo, most of the people who regularly watch HBO Championship boxing regularly are hardcore fans. And the same people that tune in to see a Ward or a B-Hop, knowing its likely to be a boring fight, will also be tuned in when Rigo fights. His style is jus an excuse for Arum and HBO to black-ball him. If it doesn't happen on TV it doesn't count. This reminds me of when JMM lost to Chris John and HBO basically pretended it didn't happen in order to build-up the second Pac-JMM fight.
