That's because most of these so-called fight fans that aren't interested in anything but blood-n-guts are lifelong ******* that live out their tough guy fantasies watching other people pummel each other from the safety of their couch. Those of us that view boxing as a sport instead of some ancient gladiator fight to the death type bull**** are able to appreciate all styles of the sweet science.

can't blame hbo...there's just no high demand for a rigo fight.
rigo is a higly skilled fighter but he has this style that creates a very unfair fight atmosphere that people don't like to see.
he already have a big advantage in skills and even power and speed...almost every aspect of the game is already in his favor and yet he goes in the ring and wait for his opponent to bring the fight to him. he doesn't lead and take the initiative...he just reacts to what his opponents try to do and exploit their weaknesses. his style is very effective but very sneaky as well and that's what people don't like.
it's boxing...someone has to lead or nothing will happen. of course it's more risky to lead but that's what brings the excitement.
don't get me wrong...i appreciate boxing skills as anyone but i also appreciate fighters who take the risks. besides you can still showcase your skills by being offensive and taking the lead.Comment

posters here criticizing HBO for this but when your in their shoes you would do the same, boxing for purist is hit and not getting hit, fine, but BROADCASTING BOXING IS NOT A SCIENCE ITS BUSINESS, for anyone who still doesn't understand this, they should have their head checked.Comment

Schaefer (GBP) is no diferent from Arum, so for those who think that GBP will treat Rigo better, stop wasting your saliva.
Truth is, no one can't stop any boxer from sticking with whatever style he's comfortable with. But don't complain when you're having a hard time getting fights. It's a business. Settle for less money if you have to and be willing to fight in undercards. That's the way it is.Comment
