Do you really want to come with that?

Wilder's best win is an old Audley Harrison, Golovkin has an amateur record of 345-5 with two top 10 wins over Macklin and Proksa as well as other respectable wins over Ishida, Ouma and Rosado.

Wilder isn't really a good argument for the 'other sports' theory, he hasn't achieved anything in the pro ranks yet. Moreover David Haye played rugby, so once again losing competitors to other sports isn't something boxing is immune to elsewhere, no boxing nation is special in that regard.

rofl, what? he's the essence of the argument. athletes like wilder are common in america. they play basketball and football.

he can hardly box. he's gotten where he's at because of talent. he's huge, fast, and has a gigantic right hand.

he won bronze in beijing with 18 amateur fights on pure talent, not boxing skill. qualified for the Olympics with just over ten fights on pure talent.

i don't expect brits to acknowledge it, but it's a fact and not an opinion that wilder is not a unique guy in america.

america is special. it's got a history of the division that no other country has. look at the history of the HW championship. it's almost exclusively held by americans.

roll on, doe. there's nothing wrong with supporting your people and being wrong. it's a huge part of boxing fan membership

Exactly, when you look at about every other American heavyweight none of them make you think wow what an athlete and I never think to myself "wow this guy could succeed at any other sport he wanted" at least that involved strenuous physical activity perhaps something like bowling they could do well.

In an NFL game or NBA game I find myself thinking "wow what a great athlete I wonder what he could do if he started boxing from an early age"

the soviet block doesn't have a 100 year history of dominating HW boxing. that's what i was referring to. no other nation can make the argument that their athletes that once dominated HW boxing are in other sports, because they never dominated HW boxing for a century.

america can, doe. anybody who is familiar with contemporary american sporting culture intuitively understands the phenomenon.

i'll also add that this is arguably the worst era of HW boxing ever, tunney.

i wonder where all of the talent went? it's a shame that the rest of the world can't compensate for the exodus of american talent.

To be fair I'm not sure if they have had 100 years of opportunity to participate in HW boxing.
