It depends on how you lose and how he was feeling going in , these are the things that form a mental picture , just losing is not half the story .

If or when Mayweather loses then retirement is on the horizon. His whole marketablility is being an "unbeatable" c*nt that everyone wants to see lose.

I don't think he'd handle it well mentally either.

If he loses to Canelo, he'll rematch Canelo then likely retire.

Unless he goes the Roy Jones route which could also happen.

i think he'd rush out there (rematch or otherwise) into another fight
and probabley regret it as he enters the fight angry and tries to be macho and duke out the punishment

It depends on how he lose. If it's a clear loss, then it's up to him whether to continue or not. A second loss is more terrifying than the first especially when he invested so much in that zero of his.

He is not that big of favorite with the pro oddsmakers. Mayweather is only about a 2 to 1 favorite to win and not a 7 to 1 favorite like he was over Guerrero or a 4 to 1 favorite like he was over Cotto, Mosley and Ortiz. I bet a good amount on Canelo so I think he will win. Floyd is a great welterweight but he is 36 years old and he is fighting a good 23 year champion who has never lost a fight. Canelo is bigger and a harder puncher with a killer instinct and accurate combinations to the head and body. The most devoted Mayweather fans would be in total shock and disbelief if Canelo won. Some might even go into mourning.

I think if Floyd lost it would just be because Canelo was too young, big and strong for him to handle. Mayweather is mentally tough and I think he could fight again and be almost as good but not good enough to defeat Canelo in a rematch. He would not do better in a rematch because he would be 6 months older and Canelo would be 6 months closer to his prime. Canelo would be calling the shots so Floyd would have to fight him at 154 not 152. I think Mayweather could still return to 147 and probably beat anyone at that weight. He might also retire with all the money he has but I think Mayweather would rather retire on a win.

Its a smart bet at the odds because no WW is going to beat him, , the bookies know this is very risky fight , 2-1 against is luxury odds vs Floyd , not that I wanna see Floyd lose but good luck with your bet .
