When I am older and look back on this era, I will point to Williams-Martinez I as an absolutely standout.

He came to fight and there was no quit in him. He was overrated as well as underrated by posters on here. The short of it is that he was a damn good fighter.

But Khan, now there's a real world beater.

That was a huge fight at 147 at the time but Floyd was too busy ducking/vacationing/celebrating/being a businessman to make yet another competitive and possibly dangerous fight happen.

I still think a post Martinez version of Williams beats Foyd at 154. He was too big, too long, too strong and worked to hard and too fast. That Martinez knock out for legit threat was stunning, people shouldn't underestimate what Martinez id that night.

Work rate, reach, height and power. What advantage does Floyd have against Williams? That's right, a great defense but what's the point when you can't even reach the other guy. Floyd is a terrific fighter but he is not unbeatable. Not even in his own generation let alone all time.

Williams doesn't use his height and reach. And he doesn't have any power. Floyd has the advantage of movement. All you have to do to beat Williams is move. He can't get set to throw his flurries if you move. Floyd paints a pot-shot picture all over his face for 12 rounds. It would be one of Floyd's easiest fights.

Good fighter who always brought the action. He didn't have to stand toe to toe being the height he was but its the way he wanted to fight.

He was heavily overrated though. He was a good fighter with a fan friendly style.
