I Miss Paul Williams

Politics aside - I was a person who loved to watch Paul Williams work in the ring - it's true many began to hate on his later career but one thing for sure - he was a decent man, that came to fight and that's alright in my book.Comment

I never liked Williams, at all. He was hugely overrated by some IMO, I always thought he was average and awkward.
With that being said, what happened to him is very sad of course and I wish him all the best.Comment

Listen kid, that response was to someone else entirely for reasons you probably cannot comprehend. Maybe you should mind your own business, Cause I personally don't care what you think. The point is no avid Khan supporter has the right to call the Punisher overrated. Pot/kettle/black peace.

Well actually they can. Supporting a fighter doesn't mean you think they are flawless. I am quite realistic about Khan's ability and his limitations which is not something you could say for the Williams' fans that frequented this board.Listen kid, that response was to someone else entirely for reasons you probably cannot comprehend. Are you ****ing serious? Williams has fought all sorts of movers, one of the best of these "movers" was/is Martinez, Williams won a close first fight. Martinez carries a power and size advantage over Floyd.Williams doesn't use his height and reach. And he doesn't have any power. Floyd has the advantage of movement. All you have to do to beat Williams is move. He can't get set to throw his flurries if you move. Floyd paints a pot-shot picture all over his face for 12 rounds. It would be one of Floyd's easiest fights.
I do agree that Williams doesn't always use his height well but he is 6'1'', Floyd is barely 5'8'', noway does Williams crouch down 5-6 inches. Williams would have been a handful for Floyd and imo beaten him. Floyd can block punches all he wants but how is he even going to land on someone whose arms will be in his face all night long?
Be serious man and I really hope you didn't base your entire assessment on the Lara fight.
I know Hearns was better than Williams but it's akin to those **** saying Floyd could beat Hearns, two guys, similar weight and height. Hearns hit harder and would've knocked Floyd out. Williams would out point him.
Heck Floyd struggled against a 5'10'' Oscar and struggled to get off effective combinations. People need to stop dreaming of Floyd being an unstoppable force.Comment

Williams has fought movers and lost. He fought Martinez who got shafted in the first fight, he moved and took Williams head off with counter shots. He lost to Quintana who moved and pot shotted. He lost to Lara who did the same. Even Kermit Cintron made him do the stanky leg and was moving and countering him. The guy is tailor made for Mayweather. Potshot, move, potshot, move all night long. Are you ****ing serious? Williams has fought all sorts of movers, one of the best of these "movers" was/is Martinez, Williams won a close first fight. Who has he looked good against that moved? He looked good against an old Winky Wright who stands still with his mits up. He looked decent against Margarito who doesn't move anywhere.
The Hearns comparisons are laughable because Williams fights nothing like Hearns. It's like saying Valuev is similar to Wlad just because they're tall.Comment

Plus all those guys are/were bigger than Floyd. Floyd is an average sized ww, don't act like size won't matter when the disparity is so wide. I'm done with you now *** :****you:Comment

He lost the first fight to Quintana. The rematch kinda glossed over the flaws Williams had because he caught Quintana cold in the first round. Didn't really prove anything. He lost both fights to Sergio if we're being honest. He clearly lost to Lara and he was losing to Cintron. If you want to pretend that he dealt with the movement well, then I can't help you.
Those guys were also lesser fighters than Floyd which is quite a bit more important than size. If Carlos Quintana can move around and box your head off, you best believe Floyd Mayweather could do it and probably in even more convincing fashion.
You are one angry little man. It's just a boxing debate, you're always getting worked up and saying reckless ****. Sexual frustration?Comment
