Stevens getting out there only helps Golovkin because nobody knows who Stevens is and if they fight, afterwards Stevens will just be known as a nobody who was green and cherry picked.
He needs to strike now because all of the options people want will be back in 2014.
Murray will be available, Martinez will be back from injury, god willing Pirog will be back, also if Rubio wins the WBC belt (I say this because he'll most likely be elevated to full) he's a viable option unless Canelo moves up
